MY GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?
MY GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?
>tfw in a shotgun shack
why a BIG suit?
True Stories is a good movie
>no, it's not a rental, it's privately owned
I dont get the appeal of this band. they are fine but its just kind of boring music
so? you gonna force yourself to like something you dont? you dont gotta understand it. you either like it or not
LETTING THE DAYS GO BY
Like it's fine to hear every once in a while but I watched that live performance and the songs all sound similar
can you go into some more detail?
Same as it ever was.
TAKE A LOOK AT THESE DUBS
Not really that's about it
I like my bands in business suits, I watch them on tv.
Is this the most used song for a movie trailer?
I feel every year there's at least one that uses it
Post one from 2019.
THERE IS WATER
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN
The music is very dense. There's a lot of interesting shit going on in those mixes, especially if you pay attention to the guitar work. Plus their sound came out of nowhere and was extremely original, and still is. You're right that diversity isn't their strength.
>I dont get the appeal of this band. they are fine but its just kind of boring music
AND YOU MAY ASK YOURSELF
WHAT THAT STAND FOR, MeN iN bLaCk
what the hell do you expect anyone to say to you then?
>extremely original
>just Bowie with more P-Funk
>literally paid P-Funk's music director to babysit their touring band for them
you have a lot to discover if you think they're original
what did he mean by this
I know this is a meme answer but their music is legitimately comfy, watch their concert film and you'll feel relaxed as fuck.
Should I buy this during the next Criterion Sale?
*ahem*
>movie where someone learns to be a parent or some shit
A B C EASY AS 1 2 3
>what if all humans were cumbrains
NO ONE MAN SHOULD HAVE ALL DAT POWAH
>assberry is going to find out things aren't so easy
VANILLA ICE Iuhh PRESSURE PUSHING DOWN ON ME
>now its his time to fight back
HOW YA LIKE ME NOW
>humanity is on the brink of extinction
some slow ringing bullshit that slowly works itself louder and louder as the action on screen ramps up.
the answer is no.
can't enjoy this song as it is forever associated with this
Their albums sound nothing like Bowie, even despite Eno's production. You're desperately trying to sound knowledgeable here. Acknowledging TH's originality is commonplace.
>You're desperately trying to sound knowledgeable here
put down the mirror, user.
If you have nothing else to add, no need to reply.
It's worth picking up.
Idk how you could find Talking Heads to be boring, their music is so energetic and vibrant and dense.
well you ignore two of my points and just said you disagreed with another one, what's there to add? I guess I expected better from you.
This song in particular is a hard hitter, you souless tranny.
>what's there to add?
Maybe say which album you think sounds like Bowie? You're the one saying this dumb shit, I can't make your arguments for you.
Wind beneath Bette Midler's red wings
The argument is they sound like P-funk, user, and they certainly ape bowie's presentation and approach, on several levels, in all of their releases after "More Songs."
That guy has probably never been to Yea Forums. He'd be hung for saying Talking Heads ripped off Bowie.
>he's probably never been to Yea Forums
I tend to listen to things instead of regurgitating consensus.
You forgot:
mournful cover of well known pop song
single piano note to underscore serious moment
staccato electronic music where the punches/hits are edited so that each cut is synced to the beat
HOME
IS WHERE I'D LIKE TO BE, PICK ME UP AND TURN ME ROUND
I FEEL NUMB, BORN WITH A WEAK HEART
I GUESS I MUST BE HAVING FUN
>their sound came out of nowhere
Well it's African world music. Not exactly original but new to western ears in the 80s, who were fairly receptive to it (see also Paul Simon's Graceland).
it's mostly just Byrne's world music boner fighting it out with Bernie Worrell writing their music for them like they paid him to.
Why, because both bands have the element of funk in their music? P-Funk were loud and spontaneous. Talking Heads were relatively robot and decisively weird. They're a nerdy new wave band.
