Mediocre chance of getting a sequel at best. Box office definetely cover production budget but who knows how much they spend on marketing so their profit probably isn't really great. Blurays sales also pretty mediocre so it's all ends up to decisions of producers and investors.

Just look at art, look how good photoshop and visual tools has gotten. Compare to painting, which has stayed the same. The same will happen with movies in 15-25 years.
Anyone will be able to commission an AI for a sequel for 5-10K and it will be faithfully reproduced better than any human could do.

The movie is better paced and more focused than the early volumes of the manga, but the manga gets a lot better starting with the motorball arc. Hopefully the sequels can live up to it.
