Why are modern movies full of fight scenes with dozens of jump cuts? What happened to long, single-shot sequences?

because the fight choreography they shot is so bad the editor has to save the footage. see: nolan's dark knight trilogy

the answer is simple
the real question is: why do normies pretend those fight scenes are good?

Because plebs have gotten used to the idea of shitty quick-cuts for action and are tricked into assuming quick-cuts means fast action and long shots are slow and boring.
This too. Choreographers are trash these days.

because jews are in charge

stop watching hollywood shit for fights

>>>>>what is john wick

absolute retards on this board i swear

Why does gweilo punch above Jackie's normal head height?

Yeah and John Wick is literally an island in a sea of shit regarding action movies, which is why it was so well liked and elevated to a legitimate franchise so quickly. What's your point? Are you implying quick-cuts aren't fucking cancer and hasn't held action films back for almost two decades now? Is that your point?

quick cuts are kino when done right, die pleb

I am so strong at karate that I can beat up everyone and anyone, I am a genius of karate.
My karate is really, really strong. No I won't fight in an exhibition (ever), why do you ask?

>Wearing shoes on the wrestling mat
That's how you get shit like ringworm, fucking twatbubble.

according to people in the industry I've talked to, its because no one can do them and still act.

>NOOOO PREASE BARDU PITTU! FLOLGIVE MY SMOR PRENIS! PREASE!

why is this homoerotic

actors are wimps and retards and producers dont want to pay for insurance
jackie chan's stunt team stands in for a ton of hollywood and capeshit stars
the 70s-90s hong kong brand of action cinema doesnt exist there anymore because HK producers want to make hollywoodshit to appeal to china
you have to go into south east asia for it now, and there are no SEA martial arts guys who have the blend of charisma, aesthetics and stunts that typified bruce, jackie, sammo, biao etc
keanu is the ONLY western guy doing it (see Man of Tai Chi as well as matrix/john wick) and he's not done anything like jackie has in terms of grooming successors, probably because jackie was the centre of the most important period of action cinema history and was brought up at the peking opera school so he cares about preparing da yoof

It's wrestling

You should watch Dragged Across Concrete. Long, slow shots, technically not the most unsound at all, but slower than it would be IRL in a stylistic way.

Like Brick, but with fighting and words, not just intrigue and words.

why do you immediately think shirtless guys is homoerotic?

proper action films are rare but still exist

Good effortpost

because it is

there are quite a few modern flicks from Indonesia that have great fight choreography

Honestly watch Scott Adkins movies...I totally dismissed as straight to video garbage but even though they're low budget trash the choreography is awesome and the fight scenes are shot competently (Isaac Florentine, who directed a bunch of his films is a martial artist himself.) Also Triple Threat on Netflix is pretty sweet too. It's sad that we have to look to the low budget B movies for quality fight scenes, but they're there.
