Are intermissions just not allowed anymore or what? Any film longer than two and a half hours should have one
The more time they spend on intermissions the less showings they can do. It's not too surprising. That's exactly why Netflix has caught on. Theaters are getting too greedy. People prefer to be able to pause the movie any time.
Anyway.
nah
jesus I'm just gonna pass on that one boys, once upon a time in hollywood was an hour shorter than this and it felt like I had spent an entire day at the movies afterwards
Scorsaysay hasn't made a good movie since Casino
Why does Scorsese want to tell this story so bad? Is he really not satiated with the amount of crime dramas he's already done? Seems boring.
it looks like shit.
Even Blade Runner 2049 was an hour shorter than this and that movie was raked over coals for its length. I've NEVER seen a movie go on this long that wasn't some obscure hipster shit like Satantango.
its the only thing he knows how to do
Silence.
Blade runner 2049 was just slow and boring in the first half. Just because a movie is long doesn't necessarily make it slow and boring
Name one movie that is that long without being slow and boring.
Scarface.
Once upon a time in hollywood
based
Wolf of Wall Street flies by
I hate the irish. All are sub human trash so i will not be seeing this movie.

Came here to post this, very based user, very based
yea i'm not going to the theaters to watch that shit. I nearly piss myself after an hour and thirty minutes whenever i go. I feel like it's psychological thing too.
Lawrence of Arabia
I tried.
How long until 5 hour movies?
Love Exposure
Real slow, repetitive movie
You can’t convince me that couldn’t have been done in 2 hours
I was watching the latest Tarankino on IMAX the other day and I literally looked for the remote to rewind it 10 seconds.
This. It's almost 3 hours but it feels like an hour and a half
Seven Samurai.
Hugo
Silence
Cape Fear
After Hours
The Aviator
Shutter Island
King of Comedy
Age of Innocence
Bringing Out The Dead
Last Temptation of Christ
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Why do so many people love Gettysburg but hate Gods and Generals?
Ten Commandments
I had no idea Scarface was that long barely feels two hours long.
Did you intentionally order the films by the length of their titles?
I've seen it at least four times and I always assumed it was around 2 hours.
>Irishman
>starring nothing but Italians
based observantposter
Yes.
DeNiro's barely Italian.
Because Gods and Generals was horrible. It had a cringey script. Was historically inaccurate. The author who wrote the book despised it. It was a bad movie
>repetitive
In no way is Love exposure repetitive, off the rails maybe but it never falls into any one category it’s completely out there and worth the runtime
That's not boring since it is Kurosawa kino but it is slow user
Never heard about it before. After reading about it It just seems unnecessary.
Shutter island was pretty good.
Try explaining what an intermission is and enforcing it in a theater full of American niggers. Imagine trying to get them to quiet back down afterward, or trying to stop them from entering and exiting the theater at random once you throw in that new variable. Consider that they do all of this already. Introducing intermissions would result in millions of nigger riots exploding out of cinemas all across the USA. We live in a new time my man.
All of you disgust me. Don't talk about kino if you haven't watched anything by Lav Diaz.
Gone with the Wind
Oh yes because Americans NEVER make noise in theaters when it's not an intermission.
Kingdom of Heaven
>ITT: attentionlets
Disgusting
I don't remember the script having that much story in it, was it revised?
the ending was shit and predictable
Are you fucking serious? Scarface is 3 hours? I've seen that movie so many times and I had no idea that was the runtime.
The trailer should make some use of Huston and Romano. Not everyone is pushing 80
I don't watch movies for the plot, so I don't really care if I know what's coming. It's a well crafted film. Also, Ted Levine in this is pretty great.
Netflix is being played for suckers by letting Scorsese milk them. They're soo wrapped up in the idea of having a MARTIN SCORSESE MOVIE with ROBERT DENIRO, AL PACINO and JOW PESCI that they've let them flush 200 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS on something that could have been shot for a 20th of that by a no name director and no name actors. Even worse is the dozen or so movies that could have been made by up and coming Directors with that money instead of letting this little wop faggot play mobster for the 100th time!!!FACT!!!
The Two Towers. Can't believe how fast that moves!!!FACT!!!
>Shutter island was pretty good.
Scorsese should have Directed WATCHMEN with DiCaprio as Ozymandias!!!FACT!!!
Didn't Scorsese claim that Max Cady is actually Satan in Cape Fear?
>watch an elephant sitting still
>3.9 hours
>dont care
It's on Netflix right. Who cares how cares how long it is? Stop it whenever you like
Why does this petite Italian man keep making vinland saga-length movies?
I mean, even if it was in a theater you could still walk out whenever you wanted as well.
But in theater you have to pay for each individual showing and it doesn't pause when you walk out.
hahahhaha
>Didn't Scorsese claim that Max Cady is actually Satan in Cape Fear?
This is the amazing thing about Scorsese's films... there's almost always a character actor there who is playing Satan. Daniel Day-Lewis plays Satan in 'Gangs', and he falls in love with Satan in 'Age of Innocence'... once you see it, you'll find it recurring throughout his whole filmography. It's a pervasive aspect of his outlook. This is why the man needs to direct Devil In The White City.
Compare Coppola's Dracula with Scorsese's Ellen Olenska -- it's a totally different approach toward the notion of the devil.
Makes sense, this will be the last true crime epic from his generation of filmmakers. He knew to go out with a bang, I'm expecting the crime film of the decade
A lot of filmmakers have well over three hours of footage but end up throwing it out. Scorsese doesn't waste any of it. He uses the whole animal.
Cloud Atlas
>We've known each other for centuries.
Best scene in the entire movie.
Why not just split it up into 5 parts and put it on HBO? It's long enough for it
This is the face they made when they saw Sherman's Burning Crusade arriving to demonstrate the power of the Government
Because fuck HBO.
It's going to be trash, Netlfix bent over for Scorscene so he's going to indulge himself and the resut will be unwatchable. Directors need to be kept in check by studios otherwise it results in failures.
>There's just this: can my violence conquer yours?
>If I was to sink my teeth into your eye right now, would you be able to stop me before I blinded you?
Undoubtedly.
>Directors need to be kept in check by studios otherwise it results in failures.
Are you serious with this shit?
I thought the "twist" was that he was actually sane and it was actually a conspiracy. would have been a lot more interesting than "its all in his head" """""'twist""""""
well of course there are exceptions but for the most part, yeah
silence was great you pleb

Explain this scene to me.
I understand if some people feel differently, but I don't care at all about twists. I'm not watching the movie to feel surprised or to feel clever for "figuring it out" before the end. I'm watching the movie to watch a movie. The dream sequences, the sets, the music of Shutter Island are all great, and so I consider it a good movie, even if the plot was predictable.

I worry about how much time you wasted crafting this painfully unfunny post.
Moderate kek.
What needs to be explained?
and this is a netflix movie? Normie thots will be checking their phone in the first 30 minutes. Im in the mood for some pleb filter
I get that, part of my experience watching it was colored by people I knew talking about the ending which is why I was a bit underwhelmed. I did like the feel of the movie overall
Why does he deflate?
Way more than it deserved desu
>muh italians
>muh irish
>meanwhile in reality they cheer on white genocide
yawn not watching more boring crime shit
Must be a boring life
I wonder what the dub of Steins Gate says instead of Dr. Pepper since they probably did not pay for the rights to use that name.
Amadeus
I know a guy with severe autism who's also an idiot and he called the ending after watching the trailer once
so goddamn predictable
