How are the chucky movies?
First one is very good. Second one is even better. Third one is disappointing. Everything after that is absolute trash.
official ranking:
childs play 1 > childs play 3 >= childs play 2 > curse of chucky > cult of chucky = bride of chucky >> seed of chucky
First is good, second isn't as good but still stands on it's own, third is downright straight to dvd tier, bride is vintage 90's schlock, and seed downright insulting. Curse tries to bring the series back to it's roots, and manages to make a really nice comeback, but not quiet reaching the same level as good as the second film, until Cult gets made and suddenly we're back into Bride and Seed territory. The whole series is a roller coaster of good and bad, and honestly if you just stick to 1, 2 and curse, then you've basically seen all the good ones.
2=1>3=Bride>Curse>Cult>Seed
Pretty mediocre if not shit and thats coming from someone who loves horror. Like 80s horror not this onions age garbage
The third three make for a great trilogy, it starts going downhill at Bride of Chucky, but Jennifer Tilly is hot and it had some pretty comical moments. Seed of Chucky is garbage, Curse is is great, and Cult is when Chucky officially got cucked. I haven't seen the 2019 remake yet, but I've heard mixed reviews on it.
>Cult is when Chucky officially got cucked
explan
Which movie had the origin scene? Something about Chucky being the vengeful spirit of a pissed off Vietnamese factory worker?
I watched the first two recently as a refresh and they hold up. Everything about Chucky was perfect, truly made with soul.
Pretty cool that Brad Dourif still did the voice for Chucky even when Cult & Curse were V.O.D.
He was a serial killer who transferred his spirit into the doll via voodoo. First movie. Based Brad Dourif.
Yes, you're reading that right. Child's Play (2019) was actually a lot better for a remake than I thought it would be. Hamill does great voicing Chucky.
kino,
2 = 1 > Bride > 3 > Curse > Cult >>>> Seed
that worker thing is only in the remake, and there's nothing supernatural about it, Chucky's just a defective robot
literally soul vs. soulless
Chucky transfers his soul into Fiona Dourif's character and becomes a woman, obviously. It's a neat meta trick with Fiona being Brad Dourif's daughter irl.
Possesses Mika's body and accomplishinh the ultimate fantasy that queers have. Being a girl. It was cringe.
Nica's hot and it's going to be even hotter seeing all the lesbo scenes she's going to be doing with Tilly (unless they magically undo everything within the first few episodes of the TV series).
2>1=Curse>Remake>Cult=3>Bride>Seed
Child’s Play 1 - 3 are good, with 2 being the best, and 3 being the worst.
Bride and Seed are horror comedies, that only get by because Brad Dourif as Chucky.
Curse is a great return to the horror side of Chucky, and the secluded mansion is a great setting. Cult has a great setting too, but feels like it gets to close to the cheese of “Bride and Seed” while still trying to be serious or scary.
The remake is an okay movie that got propped up by the Chucky name. Besides the names of some characters, it has very little to do with the original, that it could’ve been it’s own movie altogether. AI Chucky was great though.
>Everything after that is absolute trash
wrong pic related was the best chucky movie since 2
I'll tell you what I like about them, I like that they continue the story all the way into adulthood. Only the new robot Chucky starts over, and the story is written in such a way that original possessed Chucky could still show up in the new robot Chucky movies.
