What went wrong?
What went wrong?
nothing. watching autist ford is kino.
the lesbian scenes. Literally added nothing except for one line during the sidekick interview and that's really stretching it.
the dialogue between the lesbians is awful
ORY.PATTERN.PRO
??????????
The side plots were terrible and kept us away from the entire premise of the show. Establishing serial killer profiles is far more interesting than some typical relationship drama. Bill's side plot was just outrageously stupid. They went full retard with that one
They're doing it to set up the Wuornos interview and women being added to the spectrum you absolute fucking brainlets. Stop watching the show, you're too fucking retarded for it.
she didnt get caught until like 2001
>no one's posted the black moms yet
I don't know whether to be proud or disappointed.
Only chasing one case for the entire season and it wasn't even interesting. Even Holden seemed bored by it
>chasing a ghost for weeks while everybody is getting passive aggressive at you for not taking the wrong leads,
>even after discovering his identity, shits gets harder since he knows you're onto him,
>all the black folks will refuse to accept the truth because of their pride and calls you a racist,
Holden had a hard life
s2 was shit
Holden is a boring character that adds nothing to the plot. Absolutely nothing came about from his heart attack because the writers couldn't care less about him
/ourguy/ or an even bigger waste of space than Wendy's bar thot?
It was a panic attack but yeah you're point stands for now. The man Holden is based off of had stroke while in Seattle helping with the Green River Killer. I'm guessing they will bring it back in later seasons
I think it was secretly redpilled. The show kept focusing on how they had to follow the established profile and look at all non obvious clues/patterns because it would be too easy to just round up white hillbillies or KKK and say that the issue was solved, when in reality if they had done that more children would've kept disappearing
But of course the retard masses just kept shouting "muh KKK" and "look for dem wyte bois agent!". The one time they did listen to them and arrested that literal nobody it backfired on their asses
Cringe but redpilled
I'm re-watching social network and my god, what a truly brilliant, flawlessly executed masterpiece. Unironically top 5 of the decade material. I wish he'd work with Sorkin again instead of wasting years doing Netflix crap.
We already settled this. Season 2 > season 1, although both are kino.
Same shit as all ways.
>including BTK even though he won't be caught until 2005
that doesn't mean his crimes and the FBI's assistance via profiling isn't a legitimate plotline
BTK was literally operating in the same timeline you utter fucking brainlet.
All the sideplots add nothing, except maybe psycho kid for having some bearing on Tench's character. But then it just gets overwhelmed by his bitch wife.
>okay holden is suffering from panic attacks, that's a thing
>it's not a thing other than a few jabs at him, and seeing him pop some valium once or twice
>nothing needs to be said about lesbians
>the greg/lesbo interviews serve only to highlight how useless both of them are
well it's either that or no female character at all so I'm sure someone insisted
I think he's also used to sort of parallel their progress in cataloging serial killer and deviant behaviors. He's sort of the holy grail in that he's so malicious and purposeful that it's difficult for them to even comprehend it; he built a whole life around himself just to hide his crimes more effectively. I seem to remember in the episode where Bill goes out there to Wichita, they're completely off-base when he says that he's got to have women problems and a bad home life.
BTK didn't get caught until 2005 so...
I skipped through every lesbo relationship scene, based netflix thumbnail preview
DUDE FINCHER IS DIRECTING IT
>the entire season is mostly written by women
BASED FINCHER HE WILL SAVE NETFLIX
S2 turned into True Detective
/thread
Women are highly sociopathic and love serial killers, all the fan mail serial killer gets is from women. I bet those roastie writers shlick to the thought of Big Ed sticking it in their neck holes.
Parts that were outside of criminal profiling, FBI, interviews, investigsting were fucking shit.
A lot of jabs about men, masculinity that is just out of place.
i feel like the whole greg interview things were to contrast the prevailing sentiment of how an FBI agent should handle an interview like that, i mean we see their office go from like 3 people to 10 so its mainly like a "look its not just 2 dudes in a rental car anymore" but you're still right, it only illustrates how useless everyone else in the story seems to be when the first season felt more direct.
fucking right? the Atlanta investigation just goes on for so fucking long it's a blight on the whole program and sucked the life out of everything else, even the Georgia interviews were pretty garbage because the interviewees were so uneducated. the best part of the show was seeing how effective these apex predators are and just how cold, immoral, and calculating season 1 characters like Kemper were. compare that to good ol' boy and random military guy who bumbled about using military printer paper for 5 minutes
>the lesbian scenes. Literally added nothing
I find it surprising just how few people here actually understand anything they watch.
The point of all of the personal life/ domestic plots, Holden and his gf, Wendy and her gf, Bill & his son, is to contrast and highlight the crime work they are doing for the FBI.
For example, Holden acts jealous and possessive with his girlfriend and clearly has trouble maintaining an ordinary relationship. His behaviour begins to resemble more and more like the people he is studying, so it draws the question, can you harness these tendencies for positive things in different circumstances.
Wendy is considered a sexual deviant by society, and at the least is acting outside of the norm of behavior for the time. She also keeps her sexuality hidden from her co-workers, who otherwise are the people closest to her. That compartmentalization is the same as what the killers they are studying do with their sex lives.
Bill's son is obvious, I won't go into that.
This is all poorly done, but it doesn't 'literally add nothing'. It's not a tangent, it's not irrelevant. It draws interesting parallels and asks questions about the more base human behavior outside of just how it relates to criminality. There's a reason it's in the show. Do any of you understand this?
so yeah, if anything, the problem is that the personal life plots are all attempting to add too much. That they relate, too much every time to the fbi work in the show.
Like, imagine if Holden just picked up that black woman at the hotel and had sex with her and it didn't relate at all to the killings?
Or if Bill's son wasn't a fucking psycho ? The show has the opposite problem from what people say.
Was she meant to be a Drumpf analogue?
aside from make-up it went pretty well..
Berkowitz and Manson were fun to watch
They took Holden's painkiller addiction absolutely nowhere, much like Anna Torv's "important" work. Bill Tench is the only good character.
Need to cut out an episode and compress the story more.
Holden is far more interesting
what are Bill's character flaws?
Bill's a jobsworth and he can't adapt his template for being a husband/father at all.
Plus, the actor has more than one facial expression, unlike the other two leads.
Iunno. It seems like he's just been dealt a bad hand.
Did he fuck up his kid or is his kid just fucked up? It's hard to tell. But if his son is a psychopath there's no fixing that or causing it, it just is.
>Wendy is considered a sexual deviant by society, and at the least is acting outside of the norm of behavior for the time.
Lesbians weren't considered deviants outside of christcuck circles in the 80's. If the show was in the 50's then you'd have a point.
She keeps her sexuality hidden from her co-workers because that's what normal people do. It's boring.
There's literally a scene were the good boy in the squad thinks homosexuality is a criminal illness or something like that and she corrects him.
So even if you're right, that's still the intention of the show
Everyone except Tench is autistic.
The title is wrong.
It should be Minddnim
