I liked Zombi 2 a lot.
The zombie fighting the shark was kino.

3 isn't that bad

It initially took me a while to learn why this film was called 'Zombi 2' since there wasn't first 'Zombi' up until I learned that 'Zombi' was the Italian title of 'Dawn of the Dead'. It was confusing as all hell.

Pure Italian schlock. But 2 has a lot of iconic scenes.

its the most confusing franchise to try to understand in the history of the world

even just accepting that different films have different titles in different countries, fine

some of these movies even fucking share footage and directors but exist independently, but not simultaneously

just try making a list of all the occult forms of DR BUTCHER MD and try to hold on to your sanity

haven't seen it in years, though i remember it being filled with gore and pure 70s sleaze. the girls were pretty qt tho
aside from the dawn of the dead connection, i have no idea why it's more remembered than any other 70s gory italian zombie film. i'm not well versed in that side of cinema though.
people circlejerk synth soundtracks from the 70s/80s but lucio fulci was really fucking good when it came to his compositions, the soundtrack he did for zombi is really good, even aside from the main theme

Except for White Zombi with Lugosi it's the only movie that is somehow close to the original haitian legend, so it's pretty based

I think the primary question here is, which trilogy is better?

is Zombie 4 any good?

2 is hilarious in the fact a zombie hiding in a closet causes so much trouble at the start.

It's dumb but entertaining. The soundtrack is kino, as most itailian horror soundtracks tend to be.

Also being from the director of Troll 2, it has one of those endings that's just EVERYONE DIES lol

Oh fuck off.

I love trashy Italian horror but it's not even a contest. Romero's trilogy is absurdly great.

Zombie 4 isn't official canon.

tarkovsky hated zombi 2. just proves how great of a film it is.

None of them keep in canon, so it may as well be.

>Fuck off
Do you immediately say that to everyone you communicate or come into contact with? Seek some anger management.

For me, it's Ghosthouse.

Look, I don't come down to where you work and slap the dick out of your mouth.

That's the plot in Dead Rising 2. I'm sure there's a handful of movies like that too.

>I don't come down to where work
Yet, here you are. Leave immediately, reddit.

Well, After death and Killing Birds weren't directed by Fulci so I don't count them.

Romero's trilogy by far. It's a masterpiece The Argento cut of Dawn of the Dead is way too short, and the two Zombi films are pure schlock despite Zombi 2 having some moments.

For me, it isn't Ghosthouse.

>(House)
>Is coming like a ghost house

After death is my favorite
For further confusing italo franchises, look up Demons and La Casa

it's so fucking funny to me that at a certain point in Italian cinema for whatever reasons you were allowed to just attach a name to an established film and it was considered a sequel. Fuckin chad as fuck

Return of the Living Dead

it's based

it's actually even more confusing than that: icheckmovies.com/lists/night of the living dead a family tree/manwithpetgull/
and I don't think this list is even complete

Zombi 2 has one of my favorite soundtracks ever. Also great eyeball piercing scene

So you are saying you suck dick while shitposting? What’s that pay?

You just know that mutherfucker is hairy like jehovah intended.

>eyeball piercing
I'm usually unaffected by fore in movies, but any injuring involving eyes immediately makes me uncomfortable. I'm excited to watch it.

Zombi 2's kino theme has a hopelessness vibe to it

Check out The Beyond, also by Fulci. Has another great eyeball scene, and it may be his finest work (although the plot doesn't make much sense)

>That poster for Zombi 2
I have yet to see a better zombie design, based Fulci

Brightburn surprised me by having a great eyeball injury scene.

jesus, I didn't realize there were ten years between these two movies
any self-respecting Italian zombie fan needs to make sure they also see pic related

>Romero's trilogy is absurdly great.
If you're 10

it really is good, man.
Dawn is one of those movies I didn't like that much the first time I saw it but that I kept wanting to revisit without knowing why, until I realized I just fucking loved it, like Suspiria or Videodrome

this was the first Italian horror I saw

Fulci had the best looking zombies.

Excellent, indelible score.

me too, actually, lol
caught it on premium cable back in the 90s, didn't even know it was italian until later

Only the first 'Return of the Living Dead' movies were watchable, everything else was trash.

Why are you implying that you want another man to suck your dick, are you a homosexual? I think you've been lurking trap threads on this site too much. Get outside and get some fresh air, it'll do you some good.

The Wizard Video cover with that image on it would stare at me from the horror aisle at my local Blockbuster Video for almost a decade. My only disappointment with the movie is that particular zombie only gets maybe a minute of screen time.

2 was bad, 3 was good. 4 & 5 are terrible, yeah.
this year specifically, though, I've noticed the quickest tell that somebody is really stupid about movies is if you see them use the word "trash" to describe something they don't like. I don't know why, but it's been pretty consistent.

yeah i feel like i might be the same way with videodrome. haven't even rewatched it. wasn't that keen but i bought the arrow blu ray anyway and it's been sitting on my shelf, feel like i'll enjoy it more the second time around

It was the Magnum Video box for me. Saw it and knew I had to rent it. Zombie was one of the first Italian horror flicks I've ever watched (I think Inferno was my first).
