I haven't seen one in many years.

i've heard of this wasn't it based on a true story?

I don't really know if there are very many acc scary movies. You reach a point where you've watched so many movies you know what to look for to catch the scares before they happen.

nothing is really scary anymore

though I did find a lot of the stuff in Pontypool pretty unsettling, like that guy who's radioing into the station and describe all the shit he's seeing

Got some spooky moments and it's got one of the best jump scares I've seen in a while. And Carla Gugino is tied up for about 50 minutes of it.

Oh I just researched pontypool and you're right, there are some really tense moments.

Unironically watching the original Blair Witch Project in a dark room with no interruptions is unsettling as FUCK. I noticed even more shit when I wore headphones upon re-viewing.

Some people really fucking hate it but the original Blair witch us bustling with atmosphere

Black Mountainside

Based.

couldnt get through the first 20 mins does it get better?

I don't get scared by horror movies because I grew up in a haunted house.

the ending ruins the film

it's a good movie, definitely worth a watch

No.

scary movies don't exist unless you're under 12 or something

It's a really slow film so maybe it's not your thing. If so, ignore and look for other recs.

Midsommar

Is it actually scary? I heard it's more of a bad trip kind of movie.

Recently watched, normal Lynch weirdness for about half and the it turns wild, Laura Dern overacts her way into scaring the shit out of me.

Insidious scared me when I was like 18. The soundtrack is the scariest part. Those plinking and breaking strings is scary on its own.

Not "scary" but this is the creepiest Robin Williams has ever been in a film. The man had range.

>SLOW BURN BONE CHILLIN
>YASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Of the French extreme this one is by far the most bearable.

It doesn't seem scary at first, but it lingers with you for a few days and really takes a little while to set in

I did just that.

It's undeniably well-made for its simplicity, you have to admit.

Martyrs is definitely the better movie but À l'intérieur is more balls out violent and the brutality of the ending makes it scarier for me.

You did not. There's nothing scary about a fucking goat.

I agree. That's not what was the scary thing about The Witch. It was the atmospheric build up, the no jump scares, the Christian critique subtext, the character development. Take your ADD medication next time, twerp.

weak bait

Weak bait was the friends you made along the way

>he posts without reading a thread with less than 50 replies

I hope you get ocular cancer and die blind and alone.

Just contributing to OP's thread, dude. No need to get upset, friend.

none of these recs are scary, wtf is wrong with you guys

Ghosts/entities aren't real.

you grew up

Nothing is scary after you turn like 15. Moments that trigger an animal response but you don't really get "scared" anymore. It's counterintuitive but the genre has more to offer than just making you feel "scared"

define "scary"

You sound like a brainlet.
You're definitely a brainlet.

You're not real because I've literally never seen you before, and my only "interactions" with you are through a message board that may or may not be at least 50% compromised of bots and glow niggies.

the coming world collapse will be horror kino for those poor souls that live through it. god help them

Based. This scene is pretty damn creepy youtube.com/watch?v=-zZZNCgH41E
