My guess is that its not intended to be wielded folded at all because I just can't imagine that layout being practical; it just ignites and then unfolds rather than the other way around when activated. It folding at all is still stupid, particularly when its not any longer than Maul's one/
I saw fanart of sith Rey where she basically had a short staff with half-length lightsabers on the ends, which makes more sense for a character who uses a staff.

Shad's probably the lowest on the "historical YouTube" scale. He is learned, particularly when it comes to Medieval architecture, but most of his vids are just popcorny garbage made for pseuds that enjoy pointing out in a movie that a sword can't pierce plate armor for the millionth time (unless you use LE HALF-SWORDING of course xDD). He's basically all the worst elements of Skallagrim and has few of his more informative elements.

He's completely blown out of the water by guys like Metatron when it comes to scholarly analysis and raw info knowledge, anyway. Though sadly Metatron's recently begun making more dumb, memey vids, which I desperately hope he stops doing. One every now and again is fun, but they're needless in bulk.

It's dumb. It's a gimmick. It's JJ not having any ideas and being pissed at Johnson for trashing any story that was there, so "Hey, you remember that dual bladed lightsaber? That was cool. Let's do that."
And, aren't light sabers really fucking hard to make? But here's Rey with a bigger collection of them than a sex shop has dildos. Because OF COURSE.

What really sums Shad up is that time he went on a 5 minute laughing tirade when talking about Outlaw King about how ridiculous James Douglas’ “Captain America” coat of arms was and how all the talk of historical accuracy in the film was clearly just bluster because it was so plainly ridiculous looking it just showed that nobody working on the movie actually cared
