If i rate by first time watching experience, T2. When i was 12 it was pretty kick ass. But it aged worse than white women. Try watching it today and after the hospital scene it's hard to watch. T1 never gets old. The action in T3 is better than T2.

Both the terminators left on the same time. They discovered the T-800 first and sent Kyle, then they discovered the T-1000 and sent the reprogrammed T-800.

T1 is this great self contained story. The future spills over into our time for ~24 hours. It's tense, it's dark, it's desperate and they win by the skin of their teeth. What do they win? The world is still going to end in exactly the same way and it was the best they could have hoped for and the loop stays contained as it always was meant to.

T2 is full sentimental American nonsense. Catchphrases, one-liners, bitchy whiny child, good guy Arnie, tearful goodbyes to a fucking killer robot. They have to save the world and prevent judgement day just because you can't have a dark ending when it's basically a kids film.

I can watch T1 over and over. I got over T2 by the time I was 14.

Although I absolutely adore Terminator 2, I have to admit that T1 is superior not only because it was the original but because it has a gritty, low budget Horror/Exploitation vibe that the sequel doesn't have. I love them both but I rewatched T2 last Sunday for the first time in a long time and a few things threw me off. Why did Arnie take that guy's sunglasses? Why did he keep smirking? Why did he need a vacation?
