Do you agree that Taxi Driver is feminist?

There's 200 kinds of contradicting feminisms, so why not.
I'm sure it's third-generation-old-wave-revisionist-German-feminism or something.
It's an anti-incel film, yes
This, it doesn't mean anything anymore
Nothing is feminist, feminism is nothing but hijacked words and derangement.
The MC guns down nigger criminals and jewish pimps. And when some slut wants a date he takes the bitch to see Butt Blasted Bitches 12 or some shit. It's basically a how to guide on how to stop putting with modern bullshit.
Sure, but if you take it in its base form of being a movement for female empowerment that criticises the concept of a patriarchy and fights (what it perceives to be) female oppression, you can have a basic discourse
No. Because just showing Scorsese's idea of toxic masculinity doesn't actually do any of the things I just defined feminism as other than criticise men in general.
I'd say any film with a well-written female protagonist was a feminist film by virtue of just giving value to female-led stories.
>"He doesnt shoot any black people. The flesh merchants happen to be all white and the pimp actually is a white pimp, which frankly is highly unlikely in that world... not that there were no such things as white pimps, but it's just highly unlikely that Iris' pimp would be white, and it is highly unlikely that when Bickle does come to bear arms he would bear them against white people as opposed to black people who have the same job."
What did Tarantino mean by this?
wasnt the pimp meant to be black but they were scared of the backlash?

That and killing a black pimp would make Travis's racism more important than it really it is.
He seems aware that the original script was much more about race
>it's feminist
>because it's a realistic portrayal of masculinity
this "feminism is for men too" thing is complete malarkey
they would say that toxic masculinity damages men more than it helps
and i would say that a feminist's opinion on men's issues is as relevant as a man's opinion on women's lib in the 70s
And anyone else would say who the fuck are you? Can you please fuck off you smelly faggot?
and i would say i'm your dad stop talking to me like that
toxic masculinity affects women as much as it does men lol
Well well well, if it isn't the city slicker with his fancy German feminism.
Then I would reply, if you're my dad, why haven't you shown me your thick veiny cock yet? I want to suck on it, give daddy pleasures he's never experienced before and drink his yummy daddy cock milk .
and then i would pull you into an embrace before stealthily injecting you with phenobarbital and dragging you down into my cellar
sorry did i go too far?
The first person that Travis killed was black.
Considering it's his favourite movie, Tarantino doesn't know much about the plot.
That's a very misogynistic thing to say. Please apologise
Yes, though it's about more than that of course. The racial themes I suppose are a jab at how "social isolation is a cause of racism" or something to that effect. Part of me would like to think that Bickle truly was a protagonist in his story and that Scorcese's calling this film feminist is a deflection of criticism and nothing else, but it's impossible to escape the fact that all western intelligensia, and most certainly in film, is left-leaning politically and Bickle's character is clearly a jab at the things those people dislike.
