A Bug’s Life is by far Pixar’s best movie. When Hopper started quoting Rudyard Kipling about the grasshopper’s burden to civilize and enslave the ants I was shocked. Completely flew over my head as a kid.

I think this was it, yeah. You notice they also don't dress alike or have similar hairstyles, like her parents' emotions do. (I think their teeth are all like hers though, as I recall.) She's still finding herself, so to speak. Eventually once she nails down a personal identity they'll start looking a lot more like her.

Coco is definitely not a ripoff, and in my opinion way better than the book of life. It perfectly represents how important Día De Los Muertos is for us Mexicans.

Inside Out was a bit of a "return to form" with Pixar but it still felt a bit hollow. Finding Dory was even more artificial in that regard, but anyone who doesn't think that Cars 2 was when Pixar movies went from "generally good" to "generally terrible" needs to get their head checked.

Cringe. It's a really good movie. The main characters being personifications of people's emotions was clever, and the story was (by and large) well thought out. It started dragging when Sadness and Joy were fucking around in subconscious doing things that didn't relate to the plot. I ultimately liked the movie more when I realized that it's not a story about Joy or Sadness; it's a story purely about Riley, and the emotions were just a way of portraying her thought process and mental states without it getting visually boring.
Also, Riley is CUTE!
