>JOHNNY DEPP RUNS FROM LIBRARY TO LIBRARY IN ORDER TO READ BOOKS
dilate
Solid horror, completely apes Saw, but:
Main actor is great
Really great house cinematics, you can follow the physical and temporal location of the characters and it's fucking great
The main baddy is trash, but menacing trash
Decent movie to toss on after a heavy dinner with a girl if you don't plan on fucking.
How about you dilate instead?
The masketta man?
Dial soap
Adam you know wingard's best direction (you're next is good too)
Synth soundtrack is the best part of this film
Plot is a little loose but Dan Stevens completely carries it.
Check the almost giallo end climax it's wonderful.
Loved this film and I hate horror films cause I hate gore. It was just done correctly, and it was interesting. Is the 2nd one sucks?
dial 8
Is that GORDEN FREEMAN?
Too bad we'll never get a release that restores the ending.
Kino choice
Yeah it's not great. Watch it bc you liked the first, might as well blow 90 mins but no it's not as good.
How is this any different from The Secret Window (which I haven't seen)
Pre-LOTR Peter Jackson. Buckets of Gore and red goop and all the performances are cheesy in the best way. If you like Evil Dead you'll like this.
Insanely underrated French animated noir/cyberpunk flick. Nothing else looks or feels like this movie.
Idk if it's hidden gem, but this is a good thriller. A little predictable towards the end, and admittedly even a little disappointing. But it's a creatively made film and John Cho is putting his heart into it.
Zombie film. It has James Jager in it. Orchestrated by real operatives so that's why the fight scene's are 10/10 just like in Lone Survivor. Absolute zombie kino, but only if you appreciate firearms tactics. Main character uses a short M1A.
Hit or miss rec, some people love some hate it. Nic Cage bringing a great level of Cagee-ness "Sawzall--- Saws all", and Selma Blair is still looking pretty tight. I fucking love this film personally.
Would you fuck the devil, Yea Forums?
Secret Window is a little more dumb. Its still about Depp and old books but the meat and potatoes is completely different. If you're doing a Stephen King marathon I'd rec secret Window but not really any other reason to watch it.
Scared the shit out of me as a little kid. Nothing even happens but fuck this one got under my skin.
The spooky atmosphere is ruined by the stupid devil chick being overtly a demon throughout the movie rather than just at the end
Yeah, I like how subtle it is
Love this one
Just rewatched, not kino but still a great flick
Cho is fucking great, but the rest of the acting is bottom of the barrel shit. The lady cop is like a bad anime dub
Great queer cinema and if that's not your thing this has a total John Waters feel to it complete with an old Mink Stoll.
She was so fucking bad user, I was embarrassed for the actress every time she was on screen.
Kino, almost early Guy Richie, except you can understand what people are saying (American)
I liked this waaay more than I thought I would, simple story but lots of fun little touches like the soundtrack as mentioned
One of the weirdest and grossest films I've ever seen and I love gross shit. This isn't a grimy film and is actually very well produced. A lot of disgusting visuals and men wearing giant prosthetic cocks. A fun watch but maybe put your kids to bed first.
Get. On. My level.
Dilate.
Oh shit just looked it up this sounds great.
more people need to watch this
It's kino and the camera loves Whitney Houston.
Shame she wasn't in way more films.
In my top 10 horror. The characters are characters, the writing is great, the filming location is pitch perfect, and David Caruso has the best on screen "fuck you" ever. No extreme Gore, no on screen killings at all. And the audio is amazing. If you watch this one watching on your computer with a good set of headphones in a dark room.
Testament (1983)
By Dawn's Early Light(1990)
don't even look up the plot, just download and watch
Based
Lol
Good stuff
My favorite thing about that movie other than how all the action is filmed with the intensity of people ordering a cup of coffee is that despite being a film heavily revolving around books, the only thing the villain really needed was pictures in the books.
/k/ approved no doubt
Oh is this the one where he kills himself?
Seen Range 15 user?
Also the brood
I liked it and Sir Dan Stevens.
Immortals (2011).
bad taste is way better
Agreed a great movie
just re watched this last week. Just for the fight scenes and visuals id say its worth it
nothing really hidden about 48 hrs but it is a gem
youtube.com
I got you this, but I didn't really like the movie.
Highway to Hell is a fun cheesy action movie with a comfy budget special effects team.
Haven't spoken with many people that've seen this, but I loved it.
Height of Zombie's career right here gentleman
Got it over ten years ago from dvd sale. Seen it multiple times. Nice atmosphere.
Just saw it, probably one of the best 90's popcorn horrors. Not as good as Scream but better than I know what you did last summer.
I'd say it's worth it for the visuals as well as the beautiful Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto.
i'll always remember this for having the pink floyd song, it was a big deal for some reason in my family since we have a lot of pink floyd fans.
A decent prequel to Cabin in the Woods
just a plain old white people movie, we didn't know how good we had it.
>Literally Nothing: The Movie
Cho was great in it. Everyone else was trash, including the CGI
is that canon?
Peak 90s softcore coming through.
The Machine (2013).
its like 2 hours of fuckin nothing going on till the last 5 minutes
honestly id rather watch that trash Babadook, if forced a choice between the two, though id probably sooner shoot myself
i hated this
Complete kino
Twist ruined it for me but 90% of it was great
Those are the best kind of movies.
why did it ruin it? also the ending is the best part
>t. peak zoomer
I get that, but I think it's an example of a twist done well.
Underrated shlocky urban fantasy noir coming through.
>u no rike must b zoomer xD
you know what, i think id shoot you first before offing myself, fucking retard
You've got too much soi to even be in the same room as a firearm without literally shaking.
>Dragonslayer
>hidden gem
Nigga, that's a well known entry into a popular genre. I mean, good taste and all that, but it's about as "hidden" as Silver Bullet is for werewolf movies.
I mean it was unexpected, but just enough out of the realm of possibility for me to kinda tune out of the grounded atmosphere at that point
I get the rain was a metaphor for his mind going through issues but, could've been done better
Still above average and then there were none style flick
Loved it
Thanks user, I'll give it a spin
I really wanted to like this but the camera work is SO BAD, I always felt like I was watching a commercial or something, just no immersion for me
this good
I remember this, The main character is actually called H.P. Lovecraft.
Clockwise (1986).
It does have a sort of grimy early 2000's look, it totally works for me but I could see it being a turn off
is this the one where they kill commies?
one of the few times the uk ost was superior to the jap one.
Hoffman played a good prick in this.
That's fair.
Based
this one is similar
By far the best Jane Austen adaptation.
Contains 3000% by volume of your lifetime requirement of old naked Irishman.
>I KICK ASS FOR THE LORD
>tfw cyber cyber was one of the first anime I watched
Every time I see this it gets better and better.
someone posted this the other day, was planning on rewatching soon.
Is this the one where Sean Bean gets ripped apart by horses?
Love the aesthetic and atmosphere. Second hottest Jennifer Connolly has ever been. First is the Rocketeer.
>one of the first anime I watched
same, saw it on the encore action channel back when they had anime on like friday or saturday nights
cyber city*
No one on this poster looks like a real person.
Nice yuro flick
Is that the one where the mother has surgery and her kids are convinced she's not their mother and start plotting on her?
Very same
Not that "hidden" I guess, but the director's cut is amazing and almost a complete different movie than the theatrical version.
Unsettling but good movie.
Kingdom of Heaven is top tier Ridley Scott. No one ever talks about it.
very comfy
If those garbage SyFy original movies could be great they'd be like this one.
>No one ever talks about it.
Not true, it's brought up often enough when discussing failed big budget films. I like it, mind you, but it gets panned hard by critics and industry types.
is that the one with the airplane in the shot?
I remember seeing this in my local video store a million times as a kid. Never watched it but the cover scared me.
Not a masterpiece but very entertaining
never hear anyone talk about this Clint kino
Yes
I'm somewhat interested, but I can´t fucking stand David Wong.
i only know the movie, and it was pretty fun and interesting, good pacing and feels like a cosmic adventure. i'd recommend it if you want something entertaining and weird.
Yes!!
It was pretty good until the shitty final act
This and Deep Blue Sea (1999).
>the protagonists are smart
>the antagonists have considered and planned for this possibility
highest kino
while in something of a contemporaneous lull appreciatively i'd hesitate to call any perfect movie hidden
Saw this in the cinema with my mum and my sister, was unprepared for such levels of kino
boring as fuck and the climax is just le lewd demon women getting impregnated with the antichrist or whatever the point was
confirmed retard
Marrowbone.
It was cute and I god damn hate lesbians.
I saw that one, thinking of watching the remake.
What the fuck was his problem? I liked when the guy was practicing all his kidnap exercises.
kino tagline
based and too small to read pilled
Pure kino
>Frailty
>Happiness 1998
>Black Coal, Thin Ice 2014
>Miracle Mile 1988
Ya know it buddy. But great movie.
I know nothing of this film except of what you posted and won't look up any further information about it except of where to watch it, because i'm certain i will enjoy it.
Thanks!

Because I spit hot fire
I still do not understand why people like this movie. I tried watching it multiple times because everyone seems to love it. It is just not clicking for me, wtf
It's also a pleb filter.
I love this one
Great choice, although pretty mainstream. It’s on tv all the time
Was a great sendoff for HDS
Pretty fucking good
Other soft core gems:
In the cut
Doppelgänger
the most wholesome horror comedy that actually delivers
How the fuck is To Live and Die in LA a hidden gem?
Hoffman + Hackman = Kino
*Pacino + Hackman = kino
Im drunbk
>no one does it to ya like Roman Polanski
every time
I don't normally care about this, but the book honestly is way better. The movie lacks so much character development, leaves out a major twist, has horrible CGI (low budget film, but still), and the humor does not translate at all. I'm also generally not a David Wong fan, but I did enjoy the book and I read it pretty recently on a whim.
>Living in Oblivion
>"This quirky yet scathing comedy presents one hellish day in the life of an independent filmmaker. All small-time director Nick Reve wants is to realize his artistic vision within the confines of an extremely low budget. "
I don't know if it's a hidden gem, but haven't seen it mentioned here.
Sometimes it's like that.
It upsets me that no one has taken all the "her" promo material (i.e. pictures of Joe Quin "Phoenix" next to the word "her") and turned them into >she
You don't even need to change any of his facial expressions
Funny?
Damn it, I started watching this film again after not having seen it for a decade and REALLY fucking recommend it. It's really fucking good, especially if film making interests you.
yeah it's a great film
The Reflecting Skin
Seething.
based dylan poster
I don't know how this usually ranks among De Palma's work, but its my favorite from him.
Best comedy of the 2010's
The plot for this movie was ripped from angelheart and its not nearly as good. Why do faggots here always say how great it is? Its too long and it is boring.
>both has the devil in it
>DUDE IT'S THE SAME FUCKING MOVIE
retard
decent kino
If you don't like horro cos of gore but you like tension-kino, try this film.
It is also highly underrated.
>zooming pentagrams
>ridiculously placed visuals
>with VERY special effects
>a great way to spend an evening!
Kek, this looks top draw my fren
I come in peace. It is a sci fi action/thriller AND 80s buddy cop movie, and it is great.
Also, Predator II. I still think that it is better than the original.
no idea why people like that movie so much.
kino film, oliver platt was a great laugh in that.
this film totally bend my mind out of shape, it was super fuckign good, never explained the reason for the dude's visions. Pure McKinohey.
Drink water, fren
I second that.
If i remember correctly, it went far too illuminati bullshit at the end, but i remember liking it a lot.
>Lance Henriksen
I am sold, thanks user.
Yeah, that movie deserved more attention.
Great medieval movie. Contrybootin' some more swordfighting stuff:
Centurion (2010)

This is not really underrated, and /tv talked about it for a bit, but let's make it three: The Head Hunter

This movie really made an impression on me when I first watched it as a kid. It also scared the hell out of me, still does. It has some pretty funny moments too, it's an interesting mix.
Also, one of the best intros for a movie.
Shame Polanski is a degenarate.
youtube.com
>submarine movie, fucking rare genre
>actual russians playing russians, actual soviet sub
>got great reviews on release
>went barely noticed
That movie deserved more.
Idiotic movie, also based off of made up Simon Necronomicon.
It was pure kino except I just didn't get Law's affection for the lad. I know it was him 20 years earlier or whatever, but he didn't really have much time to get to know him.
youtube.com
It was clearly inspired by Hitchkier, but the maniac was cool and it had some great chases.
absolutely based truth fag
I dont understand how no one loves this film. No one knows it either.
youtube.com
Cool indie sci-fi.
I remember that was discussed to hell and back in academy humanitarian circles. Every student i know went to see that one, even Zizek published a separate review.
Michael Douglas/Andy Garcia/Ken Takakura/Ridley Scott kino
Yeah, i had the same feeling. Maybe it is just the actor because the lad wasn't likeable.
this movie was absolutely terrible, I turned it off before the halfway point, I found it unwatchable. If you are british I guess it's just a bong thing?
Id recommend Save the green planet. Its a fun south korean film.
you shooting yourself is an incredibly good idea
not sure if it counts as hidden but ive never met anyone who has seen this kino before
Never heard anyone mention this one on here. True foreign kino desu
I think about this movie all the time, damn i love that fucked up degenerate pedophile's movies.
Never even met another person who watched this
Absolutely brilliant movie
Great film. Interesting way to tell a story.
Everyone loved Mandy, but nobody watched the guy's first movie. In some ways I like it better though.
Maybe, later you can... contribute.
Three O’clock High
Heavenly Creatures is the superior Peter Jackson under appreciated gem, although they’re pretty different movies so maybe there’s room for both but Heavenly Creatures is GOAT tier
Nice bait
Interstate 60
Bob Gale kino
youtu.be
the fuck you talking about, tv was all over that shit when it first was released and there are plenty of people in occasion who talk about it
what the hell are you talking about?
This is one of the first movies that bots were spamming forums with fake positive reviews for.
Huh. I found it by chance when looking for Rome flicks.
i know its talked about a lot on here, but most people i know irl have never seen it or heard of it, so i'll post it. probably in my top 10, love this movie
>that part with the cheating on the math test
great stuff
That's a really good movie and, you're right, there aren't any real stupid moves in this movie. That's what makes it interesting. I also liked The Strangers.
It's honestly my favorite Mel Gibson movie. Usually with sprawling revenge stories there's some attempt to make it righteous, the fact that they kept shit super petty, but also strangely principled, makes the movie really enjoyable. The actors, and there are a ton of recognizable ones in it, seemed like they were having fun with it too.
I haven't seen the film, but that made me laugh out loud
This was good.
Yup. Easy top five werewolf kino.
he doesn't read, just looks at the pictures
The best british film of the 80's (imo)
What I saw of that was absolute kino
>By Dawn's Early Light(1990)
That was fucking garbage with low-budget-sitcom-tier writing, acting and effects.
You want a nuclear holocaust movie, watch The Day After. Shit, even Miracle Mile was better.
youtube.com
Cheese, but I love it. I recommend it if you like movies like Class of 1984, The Warriors etc
Fuckin kek I remember watching this as a kid, downloading now!
daughter has nigger boyfriend. turned off like 2 mins in, cant abide that
Drive (1997)
straight-to-video kung fu flick so good it ended up in a video store 71 degrees north
absolute kino
Here's another sleeper hit with Depp
You just did.
I've never met anyone else who has seen this movie, but I fucking love it.
I've only seen the one with Adrien Brody but I remember thinking it was a great idea for a film. Didn't know about the original's existence, thanks.
I have only seen the original. Its pretty badass and raw
i wacked off to the girl
This was much better than it had any right being.
>They didn't name it Turbokino
One fucking job
kino soundtrack
Never met anyone who's seen this, but I think it's great. Yes, there's >JLO but it's a fun, sexy crime movie. I imagine it's a good date movie
The books of blood would make for a great anthology series/tv show. This movie got me hooked on reading Clive Barker.
Loved this one
HOLY CRAP, Lois! It's Gordon Undertale!
this is kino, regardless of what soimen have to say
They are both great films in that they have Depp playing straight until the final bit of the film, which is something he excels at but is rarely given the chance to do.
>Grant Morrison cameo from nowhere
peak 80s nostalgia. saw it twice it holds up fine
i as obsessed with this when i was 12
im gonna watch this it sounds so silly
this is amazing. why doesnt this have the same cult that heat has?

i was at a party with a guy responsible for importing this into cinemas in my country. i expected too much was worth a watch for sure though.
>image limit reached

Fuck yeah. I liked this so much, it even made me go and but the second book to see what Thomas did next even though I hate Koontz.
The book was pure trash. 90% of it was Koontz whining about "them kids today".
lol, Poolboy
I love that stupid movie
Nonsense. Really good script based on plausible red herrings, like the best mystery novels. Even the "all happening in screens" gimmick works perfectly.
Hey, the director cared so much about the movie, a literal second story is happening during the main plot, but you can only see it in places in the screen Cho isn't looking.
>Bubba Ho-Tep
This is such a good movie. People dismiss it because "it's a Bruce Campbell movie". Fucking retards, it's a great movie about growing old and death.
i couldnt watch this movie more than 5min its too cringe
favorite subjects of losers on internet forum who want escapism?

>90's horror
>Stephen King
>MIGUEL FERRER
How the hell didn't I hear about this before?
Shit. Who was trying to make this movie look like a zany comedy? What the fuck?
This. The Collector is fucking amazing. Too bad they did the same shit like Saw and went with the "le bigger scope" meme in the mediocre sequel.
It's a great and greatly misleading poster.
These threads are the best.
Now I have a good list of films to watch
Thanks everyone
That's not a good thing, user. Lots of burgers probably got in there thinking they were about to watch a Monty Python film and ended up watching a violent mystery.
hated it
awkward Tim and Eric rip-off, and yeah awkwardness is the aim, but it's also unfunny
>>her
>a spike jonze love story
kek
this movie sucks and completely missed the point of the book. fuck it
