This is very clearly Reey and you're all getting bamboozled by Sheeev Palpaatine.

Screencap this. Rey turns to the dark side and is defeated by Kylo who has a vision with his father and mother and turns to the light side.

Doesn't sound safe.

How could she not turn to the dark side? The first movie: She is in fear the entire time, of leaving her planet, of her first run-in with the force, of being abandoned. The second movie: she embraces the dark side in the cave test and Luke has to intervene to stop her. He is shocked by the decisions she makes and basically stops all training. She begins courting her enemy and even teams up with him for a time to kill. She is now essentially the most powerful force user in the galaxy and has no mentor or even any meaningful training to rain in her power.
Connor Williams
Protip: They can't put this in the trailers if its really true

To add to this, Kylo was on the edge throughout both movies. He is teetering on going back to the light side but is only being kept in check because of the influence of the supreme leader. Snoke has given Kylo the task of killing his own parents, the tests that would permanently seal his fate to the dark side and be under snoke's power forever. He kills Han, which he barely had the will to do. In the next movie leia save him because without Snoke influencing him anymore he can not pass the second test and kill her.

Why would they cgi her face there?

This is way too bold for Disney to actually do it.
I've posted about this before but Rey's character arc in TLJ is clearly pointing towards her turning to the dark side at the climax of the movie. It's incredibly obvious if you watch the movie with this in mind. As you point out she's driven by fear, Luke stresses how frightening and dangerous she is, she sees only herself in the cave (this is a really chilling scene, especially contrasted with Luke's own dark side vision in ESB where he sees that if he continues to live by the sword he will essentially become Vader -- Rey looks into the Dark Side and sees only herself as she now is, again and again and again). She even switches (magically between scenes) to a darker outfit as she moves from Ahch-To to the Snokemobile. Only then after all this buildup preparing her to heel turn...she doesn't, apparently. She refuses to join Kylo and goes back to lift some rocks and save her buds. It's incoherent and unsatisfying. I can only assume that at one point it was planned for her to heel turn and the idea got nixed by Big Mouse for fear it would scare people.
If they actually follow through on it now and have her fall I will be genuinely impressed with these movies. But I don't believe they will.
Ethan Kelly
can you imagine if she actually turned in TLJ and the trilogy ended up having some sort of overarching plot?
Tyler Gray
Is Rey Palpatine? Is Palpatine Rey? Or were they simply made for each other?
Ian Kelly
why are you falling for an obvious fakeout which is from a dream sequence or some shit. palpatine describing what he wants and it cuts forward to this to illustrate. they already established in TLJ that they will show on screen character's interpreted versions of shit which didn't actually happen.
Rey isn't turning any fuckin sith and Kylo is killed by his mothers bigger nose which is separated from her after TLJ
Jason Rogers
A match made in heaven.
She'll get with Ben Solo and have another Skywalker baby to the rise of Skywalker.
Chase Anderson
blue equals good
red equals bad
adults will watch this
Sebastian Wright
They cant have her turn now since they have Palpatine. The main villain of this arc had to either be Rey or a past character and they chose Palpatine.
Michael Peterson
It could be that they are ripping off the Thrawn trilogy and palpatine's fleet is made up of clones. Rey is a clone, it solves the "who's her parents" question and the cave scene where she see's repeating images of herself. She was tailor made by palpatine with Skywalker's (or Vader's) DNA. The Rey we know was an early model that was rescued somehow. The end will be her facing her own clone in combat
just like how Luke faced his clone made by C'baoth

To give her more pronounced cheeks and less body fat for this kind of corrupted dark side appearance. Actress is hitting the wall and suffers from coke bloat anyway.
Anthony Carter
Why assume the worst of actors?
Justin James
hahahah, epic "user saying words in a way that implies he's speaking to a special child" post. I upvoted, and will be sending gold momentarily. :~)
John Carter
Didn't you watch TLJ?
Owen Sullivan
can someone edit this to have the blade fall down and cut off her leg?
Parker Ramirez
Rey being a clone from vader's DNA would explain why she has a connection with Kylo
