Is there a more Kino montage?

skribbl.io/?2ycOY5Czzu is it kino?

As an A's fan, I loved it. Reliving that streak gave me goosebumps.

One of my favorite rewatches

Not in sports movies

and now analytics are ruining sports

Nu uh

The ending shot with Pitt's daughter singing and him crying is kino

Robots play sports to win

John chayka ring a bell ? Kyle dubas ?Both are analytics genius ne is dstroying the coyote the other will never win in toronto its lamoriello that build that team and he is gona crash it.

Needs a sequel where Brad goes to the Nippon League and fucks up the Tokyo Giants

For me it's the Umpires. They are completely out of control and have way too much power.

Guys get tossed just for looking at them.

just watch Mr. Baseball

The minors will try robots but I don't think it will catch on

i really did like Jonah hills performance

youtube.com/watch?v=TpBcwGOvO80

automated strike zones will be in the majors in like 2 years dude

the whole mentality of baseball being a "gentleman" sport always annoys the fuck out of me. Especially all those bullshit unwritten rules about "respecting the pitcher"

Pitchers have it too fucking easy. We need a god dam pitch clock already.

Great sports flick. Read the book too if you were interested in the stats/sports aspect of it. Might be too baseball nerdy if you have zero interest in the sport but if you have a passing curiosity, it's fascinating.

It's even better if you enjoy baseball. I am glad you liked it.

I mean it's doable but some people insist on the human error element

>be billy beane
>be a nothing player his whole career
>pick up sabermetrics
>make meme teams with his fedora tipping ways
>other big market teams notice and use this system while spending more money on top of it
>accomplished nothing except playoff appearances that have led to nothing in the last seventeen years
>meme himself into a Oscar level movie
name a bigger faggot in all of sports let alone baseball

especially basketball. no more posting up. only threes

Same
But Yea Forums told me sabermetrics is a meme, is it true ?

how do you know nothing about baseball? like literally nothing?

Most sports movies are good.

WAR and FWAR are some of the biggest meme stats in all of baseball

Cricket is the superiour sport in every way
Should be a massive sport in America.
It like a good version of Baseball

I'm a big fan of movies where Brad Pitt repeats lines (at least twice in a row). Movie has a decent soundtrack as well.

more than likely never had a childhood

>Brad Pitt repeats lines (at least twice in a row)
Is this a real trope?

Not OP, but I decided to actually get really into baseball this year. I'm a Mariners fan so I wasn't expecting anything, but our hot streak fucked me up good.

You're right; Moneyball is even better now that I care more about baseball.

I kinda like baseball but never, even after watching this movie understood what a "Free Agent" was.

your contract is up and you can sign with anyone now that the Supreme Court decided the Kurt Flood case in the early 1970s

Chris Pratt was good in this, made me feel sorry for him in the interview scene

So before you just had to stick with your team for life?

I know nothing about hockey and enjoyed this. The sequel was alright too.

spin rate and launch angle are all that matter

NOOOOOOOOOOOO BRADDUUUUUUU PREEEEEEEEEZ STOPUUUUUUUU THE SABERMETRICSSSSUUUUU

>dat song
>dem feels

yep, the first free agent was catfish hunter who was unironically a Oakland Athletic who was intimidated as a teenager by the A's owner to sign a bad contract. basically the owner forgot to pay annunity on his life insurance and he signed with the Yankees for 3.35 mil

bad sports

FUCKING UMPBALL

UMPS ARE KINDA LIKE JANNYS

I loved this movie and I know next to nothing about hockey - kind of like a spiritual successor to Slapshot.

Damn Sneed gettin lit up.

Not to encourage it but there was a Sneed who played for K-State basketball

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS FUCK THE BROONS AND FUCK BOMBSTON

The amazing story of a man who revolutionized the sport and used advanced math to...
Win absolutely nothing.
The only thing barely passing as a victory is that they broke some division record or other, something that happens every other year.
Meanwhile, people who didn't use sabermetrics and didn't have particularly better players (no matter what the movie says, the A's were a fairly decent team that season) went and won literal titles.
Sabermetrics is a scam and has been outed as one for a long time. Don't believe this movie.

the internets incredible ability to find stuff of little to no importance keeps impressing me

Spoken like a true money club supporter. Even in football (soccer) analytics, good scouting and "thinking outside the box" give smaller clubs a fighting chance, while big clubs just need to wave their wallets to fix all problems.

Go back to doing the needful Pajeet

Yeah, it's a good movie.

Even though he didn't win anything and turned down the Red Sox, it's nice to think that smaller teams can have a chance.

Pure kino. Only sports movie i ever liked.

Not to mention he didn't take the Boston job. Was he retarded?

PREEASE

>tfw people will unironically say a 3 hour baseball game is boring but talk about how an 8 hour game of cricket is great

more than likely - not to mention that the athletics have no fans attending their games and complain about while maintaining a 57 mil payroll in a league where 100 mil is considered cheap

There's lots of thing this film did well but the best was understanding the unique position of having to endure watching something you have no control over whatsoever.

Read the book, it goes deeper and actually manages to make baseball stats entertaining.

>Read the book
Good advice for people who post about The Big Short on this site sometimes too. Though no way could Bennett Miller screw up Lewis's book like Adam McKay did.
