Goggins gonna carry the show again like he did Vice Principals.

I wish he’d stop hoovering up goggins and let him do some real acting.

So wait is Lucy dead or still alive?

Glad the blackmailers weren't the preachers from that small town.

>jews making another show about le evil weird christians

Russell was the best role of his career.

Is Gideon the young blackmailer? since he was doing flips

good call

How damn. I forgot this was airing already. I don't think I finished Vice Principals, but I was looking forward to this.

>always blaming the Jews
>not realizing this is moreso funded by China to quell Christian protests for Democracy

>implying megachurches, the prosperity gospel, and much of fundie bullshit in American Christianity isn't blasphemy against the actual teachings of Jesus Christ
>implying Christians shouldn't be making fun of this shit themselves

Remember when David Gordon Green was known for indie arthouse movies instead of dude bro stoner comedies and Halloween sequels

Who else is stocking up on kubotans now?

The show isn't that bad/doesn't bash Christianity like you think.

Two episodes in, it's more a character study that humanizes televangelists and the family structure in such family ministries. Also with the implicit notion that those who preach the prosperity gospel form of Christianity are people with deep seeded emotional issues relating to their families or marriages or lives in general, who use the wealth to prop themselves up mentally and avoid addressing the fact that they are unhappy with their lives, let alone having a crisis of faith in that they believe in God, but being unable to reconcile their religious faith with their discontent with their lives and how they can change their lives for the better, without compromising their religious beliefs given how society likes to claim religion is the root of all human misery.

how exactly are these meant to be used?

What did I just read?

He wasn’t in this episode you liar. Fuck you.

>Jewish hollywood makes more movies mocking Christians

The Jews are filled with hate.

I would assume the TL;DR is:

>>it's a show about a dysfunctional rich family; them being televangelists is just window dressing

>>All of the characters spend like a sailor on payday, because it feels the void in their lives

>>The endgame is the family realizing that they can still love God but change their lives/lifestyles in order to fix their personal problems at the heart of the series.

The bigger question though, is whether or not the show has a set endgame ala Vice Principals or if McBride's going to drag it out like he did his baseball show, which undercut any sort of message/theme to that show.

Its isn't so much hate as it is a desire to deconstruct via mockery American identity and replace it with their more profitable form, it also serves to inflate the egos of those who they already manipulate, i.e. "at least I am not one of these crazy goofy fundies".

Eastbound and Down was about fame, through the lens of a washed up jock who fucked up his life and career. The lengths one will go to regain same fame and the eventual revelation that fame was a placebo used to avoid facing up to the personal faults and flaws that caused you to lose it in the first place.

I'd also argue that Vice Principals is the oddball of the McBride "Angry Man" trilogy. It's a glorified mini-series that McBride recorded over the course of a single period of time; that he did with a set beginning, middle, and end because he knew damn well the first half of the show would get him tarred and feathered and possibly blackballed and that if he tried to extend the run of the series, HBO would have eaten him alive and forced him to bastardize his vision for the show.

lol as opposed to the CBS sitcom he's also staring in?

you jab the business end into pressure points
