I should have done my homework on this one before I saw it in theaters. I genuinely thought it was a PTSD war vet story packaged as some sort of action dramedy. What made it even worse is that it was clearly just as off-putting for both of us, but getting up and leaving would have felt like an acknowledgement of all the perversion the movie's showing but not discussing.
