What did you watch back when you missed school?

My family didn't have a TV growing up since it was "a box which promoted nothing but sin and degeneracy" so we exclusively read books.

comedy central used to play movies like Office Space, Slackers and Half Baked all the time, so usually that

When I was really young? Mostly kids shows, cartoons. I don't like the concept of kids shows being different to adult ones, if I become a parent I won't encourage kids tv shows. If something can stand up for an adult like Spiderman 90s cartoon or Big Wolf on Campus sure.

Spin City and Becker

Price is Right and Saved by the Bell and Sally

>doing the right thing but for a stupid reason

probably worse than just letting you decide for yourselves, unfortunately.

I wasn't allowed to miss school. I could have the fucking flu and my parents would still send me in.

My mom was a storyboard artist who worked from home so we'd always just have hanna barbera cartoons on
God I fucking hated hanna barbera

This guy my dad went to school with never missed a day, from Kindergarten to graduating high school. He got in the newspaper for it and that was it.

>can stand up for an adult
You mean you personally like it. Adults make all those baby cartoons that you don't like.

I remember this show being on all the time in the day. As well as all those shitty VH1 reality show marathons.

Fuck, I just realized we weren't even allowed to read most books. We got these knock-off "Christian children's books" and the Bible to read, that was it, nothing else. Hell, the first time I EVER saw a movie was in school which was a story about Noah's Arc, and up until I had my own job at 17, I never got to see a movie in a movie theater when I had to sneak out of my house to go see one

My apartment building had a small grocery store in it with a small video rental corner, only new releases. Would always get a frozen Totinos Party Pizza and 1 liter of Dr Pepper. The two movies I can rember renting there were Kingpin and In The Army Now

I was out of school right as The Osbournes was finishing and all the reality shows were hopping on the train. It's all my parents watch, it's so stupid.

When I was a kid all I ever watched were Simpsons and Kids In The Hall reruns over and over. I grew up to be exactly how you'd expect.

Korean parents?

>totinos, drpepper and in the army now
sounds like a good time to me

Nah just Christian idiots. I got them back though when I came out as gay.

>What did you watch back when you missed school?
The shitty movies that would play on Comedy Central's daytime TV block before and after the "COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS" stand-up specials. Lots of reruns of Rolling Kansas, Bottle Rocket, and Stealing Harvard. They only showed Scorched a couple of times but I remember that movie was fucking kino and I loved the qt tomboy girl in it.

>David the Gnome, Inspector Gadget and Eureeka's Castle is on Nickelodeon
