Why do people pretend to like this music? it's boring. uninspired. plain. there's nothing behind the lyrics. No pain, no passion, no emotion, no meaning. There's no atmosphere, nothing that gives you chills, nothing new, nothing innovative. When I was 15/16 they were literally the most amazing shit I had ever heard (but then again, I hadn't heard much). Also, the whole psedo-intellectual "THINK FOR YOURSELF" shit was extremely inspiring for me as a disaffected youth and made me feel like a big smarty pants.
Being naive makes it pretty easy to becoming wildly obsessed with bands like Tool.
