Miyazaki initially rejected this design because he found the monster tits incredibly cringe. However, then he saw how passionate the artist was about this design and greenlit it just to cheer him up.

Big tits are illegal in modern pop culture.

Some flat chested angry black woman.

Rejecting a goddess design because she has big tits is retarded anyway. Miyazaki should understand mythology better than that.

Japan's traditional beauty standards value small chests, and goddesses were indeed depicted with small chests in the art.

Amazing chest ahead.

Yes, but Dark Souls is based on western fantasy and mythology. Gwynevere is a fertility goddess.

Tongue but hole

came here to post this, not even a contest

listen here, skeletons

Why does every white person make that face

It's Asian fantasy in Western decorations. The idea of world cycles is incredibly Eastern.
>Gwynevere is a fertility goddess.
That's not a prerequisite for being depicted with monster tits.

>Youthful ginger goddess
Some worthless nigger obviously. The more masculine and barren the better.

Miyazaki is lazy and a known chancer

>known chancer
What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Uh, yes it is

Attached: 220px-Willendorf-Venus-1468.jpg (220x349, 20K)

>The idea of world cycles is incredibly Eastern.
Not exclusively, it's a concept that shows up in western myth too. Norse myth is the first that comes to mind, and Dark Souls heavily draws from Norse myth if the game taking place atop a massive tree wasn't a big hint. I'd say the biggest Eastern theme is the world of duality with concepts being defined by their opposites, although that's also a basic element of western occultism.
>That's not a prerequisite for being depicted with monster tits.
It's not, but it's still very common symbolism for fertility and rejecting a motherly fertility goddess design for having big tits is dumb.

Norse mythology doesn't have cycles, it has ages. Once an age is over, it's over and it won't repeat. Compare that to the endless cycles of Asian religions.
>Dark Souls heavily draws from Norse myth if the game taking place atop a massive tree wasn't a big hint.
That was a Nausikaä reference.

What the fuck are you talking about?

>Once an age is over, it's over and it won't repeat.
That's what the cycles in Dark Souls are too. The Flame dims, the world approaches an end, and someone is burned to reignite it but the effects are lessened each time and the world gradually spirals downward from the original age of the gods.
>That was a Nausikaä reference.
Norse myth is older than Nausikaa, bro. There's other Norse influence besides being sat atop a tree too, and influence from other western mythologies.

Don't propagate false information.

No, it's meaningless runes copypasted by an artist because they look

>That's what the cycles in Dark Souls are too.
You haven't played past the first game.
>There's other Norse influence
I'm not seeing any.
>influence from other western mythologies.
It's more generic fantasy than any real mythology.

I know what an ouroboroS is, it symbolises the journey of the sun, not cycles of world history. Egyptians had no concept of cyclical history.

>You haven't played past the first game.
Yes, I have. I've played all of them several times. Did you forget all of DS3?
>I'm not seeing any.
I guess maybe you should look around the games then? There's another example right here Although now you're just arguing that the visual influences don't actually mean anything.
>It's more generic fantasy than any real mythology.
'Generic fantasy' at its core is Tolkien which again heavily draws from Norse myth. I'm not going to write a whole short essay on Dark Souls' mythological sources, but if you're educated at all on mythology then most of it should be obvious to you just from playing through the games.

I mean she's actually just an illusion created by her brother who's a tranny so it kinda makes sense he'd give her hyper feminine qualities

i need you all to shut up

miyazaki doesn't care what you think

Dark Souls is much about the struggle between the western and eastern vision of end times. The "light" pantheon headed up by Gwyn is clearly inspired by Greek and Norse mythology, and their goals generally align with "control humanity, keep the light burning, keep it going, until the end of time when everything fades and ends and all we loved is lost", versus another perspective held by the more "evil" insidious dark factions, is that everything is within cycles, and light can only last so long before the dark comes, and then again is also replaced by another cycle of light. The player is essentially allowed to choose, whether to try to keep the endless cycles continuing, or to try to end the cycle and bring about a final, complete end like when Jesus comes back for revelations. Both Eastern and Western outlooks are represented and put in tension with each other, with the player given significant agency over which path to choose.

Attached: 1470971658477.jpg (600x656, 71K)

>Did you forget all of DS3?
Dark Souls 3 has 3 endings: you can keep the current cycle going, you can break the current cycle (but it's explicitly said that a new one will start eventually) or you can usurp the flame, whatever that means. But the cycle is probably going to eventually begin again even in this case. Incidentally, breaking away from the cycle is the central idea of Buddhism. Proving that the game has an Eastern philosophy at its heart.
>Although now you're just arguing that the visual influences don't actually mean anything.
No, naturally not, I'm glad that we got this extreme stupidity out of the way. Or else Dark Souls would be the most Christian game of all time with all the churches.
>'Generic fantasy' at its core is Tolkien which again heavily draws from Norse myth.
Secondary sources don't count. Norse mythology was also influenced and derived from other belief systems (including Christianity!). You can trace it all back to African fairy tales if you keep going.

I feel too bad about killing titty spider's sister.

I'm much more inclined to believe that Elden Ring will be based on real mythology because it's written by a well-educated Western writer.

"Quelaag, my dear sister..."

Attached: quelaan_daughter_of_chaos.jpg (1920x1080, 339K)

>Dark Souls 3 has 3 endings
The world is collapsing into a giant ashtray because burning people to keep the Flame going doesn't work anymore. In the link the fire ending you just slowly smolder compared to the massive explosion in DS1. The implication here is obvious. It's not a clean cycle, it's a spiral downwards as portrayed in western ideas of gold/silver/bronze ages.
>Incidentally, breaking away from the cycle is the central idea of Buddhism. Proving that the game has an Eastern philosophy at its heart.
I never argued that it didn't have Eastern influence too. In fact, I outright said it did in one of my first posts.
>No, naturally not
Nigger this reply chain started by talking about Gwynevere's VISUAL design.
>Or else Dark Souls would be the most Christian game of all time with all the churches
Which would still be western. inb4 you claim it's not western because it originated in the middle east.
>Norse mythology was also influenced and derived from other belief systems (including Christianity!)
What exactly are you trying to claim here? That Tolkien isn't Norse-inspired? That nothing is actually Norse-inspired because you can trace things back to earlier ages and cultures?

Well it triggers my trypophilia so

It triggers a fake condition invented by the Internet that is not recognised by the medicine anywhere?

Yes, The Indo-Aryan ancestors that formed the foundation of all Western Men and their Mythology, yes

Indo-Aryans are the Indo-Europeans who went to Asia. Europeans are the other branch that went to Europe let's forget about Tocharians. Completely unrelated. Unless you were talking about gypsies.

Many of you dupes are missing the glaring Grail Myth and Arthurian Cycle allusions

To call this eastern is to have a grade school understanding of Western Mythology

>Many of you dupes are missing the glaring Grail Myth and Arthurian Cycle allusions
The character in question is named Gwynevere user, how could anyone miss it?

Lots of Welsh innit

That's not exactly true and there's plenty of debate on that topic in particular
The main point is that the ancestry is linked by a common thread of Aryanism, which expresses itself in the Cyclical World Order

It's a brazier.

You some kinda brainlet?
You understand the Grail Myth is about ressurecting a dying kingdom and renewing the health of a whithered king while enduring supernatural challenges, right? Those themes alone should start ringing bells

There's much more to this than monte python

Attached: IMG_3113.jpg (1000x269, 111K)

The brainlet here is clearly you. You're talking about the story of the Fisher King, and it has nothing in common with the story of Dark Souls. Like, whatsoever.

>and it has nothing in common with the story of Dark Souls
The story of Dark Souls is going on a quest to get the Lordvessel and reignite the First Flame to restore Gwyn's dying kingdom.

Hang in there, Skeleton !

It's all so tragic; the Nips are like a widow who carries on the memory of her fallen love

Why does DS1 has so much SOUL and all the sequels so soulless?

>Dark shit 2

uh go ahead and take her lmao

DS2 was the response to DS1 doing so well so they tried to snazz it up a little. DS3 was a return to form after they realized people like the original style, but a good copy of the original still doesn't have the same impact as the original. Then Bloodeborne comes out and is at the same level as DS1.

These guys are not Aryans, but Indo-Europeans. Aryans is another term for Iranians and related peoples (in fact, the word Iran means Aryan). Stop taking your terminology from Hitler.

Dark Souls 3 has soul in some areas (notably the two final bosses from the DLCs) and 2 had the twinblade and the looking glass knight

This, there is no one else in Hollywood that could pull it off.

Miyazaki didn't do DS2 and only did DS3 out of obligation and under pressure. He doesn't like sequels.

I love how you fags seethe over fake tits but can't even tell the diffference.

Dark Souls 2 DLC's are soul and kino. It's the highest point in the series IMO.

>her

The term Aryan is synonymous with your definition of "Indo-European" and has been historically used in that context for quite some time by academics in many fields; not to mention its linguistically more efficient. I'm not gonna dance around terminology because a bunch of shitlibs get uncomfortable talking about my ancestors in a more than sterile academic sense

Nice to meet a gypsy here.

It's a fear of the outward manifestation of serious parasites. Screwworms, bot flies, and probably several other horrors I'm not even aware of all manifest similarly to the images that trigger people.
