I'm 3 episodes in and it's picking up, the characters are starting to get more fleshed out and so far it's really the most interesting part of the show.

That said it seems it's staying somewhat ambiguous with it's on the nose style of satirical comedy, oddly enough, so you can pretty much spin whatever political agenda on its narrative. I usually hate television but so far, I'm having fun with this one.
