Better then long drawn out scenes of han and leias sexual tension in the falcon. Romance has always been the worst part about star wars, this was cool because it was dark and wasnt uncomfortable like AOTC and its romance scenes were. Biggest issue with the sequels is how it values boring shit like kylo and reys romance over something actually cool and interesting like snoke.

Anakin wants to save Padme. Palpatine knows how to save Padme. Palpatine tells him he will save Padme, but first, Anakin must kill everyone in the Jedi Temple, and then go kill the Separatist leaders. Anakin obeys because he wants to save Padme.
He also just witnessed Mace Windu try to murder a "helpless, unarmed" old man, and has been getting fucked over by the Jedi Order, and the Jedi also refuse to help him save Padme, and not only that, Padme and he have to keep their relationship secret because the Jedi rules say he can't love anyone. From his perspective, yes, the Jedi aren't exactly looking that great.

It really is. People go on about how it's the darkest of the prequels but it really is just a dull, poorly aged CGI mess with bad acting.
