No. Disney wanted 50% of profits with full merch profits. Sony said no then later still offered them 30%, a retarded number, that the mouse turned down. Disney didn’t make it make billions. The reputation that Spider-Man has did. Sure, it lent the MCU credibility to it, but really the MCU elements were the worst part of each of the Tom Holland movies: the incessant worship of Iron Man and the “every villain is related to Iron Man,” parts. Which really divide the audience into “I love it” or “I absolutely despise it.”
But it’s a Spider-Man movie. As long as it looks decent, people will go and see it, no matter how hard they complain about it, nor who owns it. Sony doesn’t have to worry.
Sony at least put in the effort and gave us 3 really good Spider-Man films and distributed one pretty good cartoon. Disney puts out lackluster series after lackluster series. Does anyone even remember Marvel’s Spider-man exists?
