At the risk of sounding like a shill, Disney makes the better films these days. They both suck in different ways, but at worst, Disney's films are bland but technically well-made. On the other hand, Sony is full of out of touch corporate types who genuinely don't know what they're doing - these are the same people that wanted Spider-Man dancing to EDM and using Snapchat back during the Garfield era to appeal to the youths

I doubt the government would let that happen, after the Fox acquisition I don't think there's much more Disney can swallow

I think Star Wars still reigns supreme as far as a moneymaker goes over Spiderman, even though he's bar-none the most popular superhero.
