What the fuck was his problem?

What the fuck was his problem?

Hamlin & Hamlin (formerly McGuill)

Name one thing he did wrong

>be bigshot tryhard lawyer
>have kid brother who's kinda a goofball but wants to follow your footsteps and become a laywer as well
>ok fine.jpg
>he isn't putting nearly half as much effort as you or treating the profession with the same respect
>still manage to get a lawyer degree and pass the bar
>REEEE WHY AREN'T YOU AS AUTISTIC AS ME ABOUT YOUR JOB

Too based for this world

Charles looks like he couldn't have fun if he was held to gunpoint and told to

Jimmy just never mattered all that much to him.

Having a fuckup con man for a younger brother. He had respect for the law and saw what a mockery Jimmy made of it. And it made him sick (literally). You're on the wrong side of history if you don't consider Chuck a tragic hero.

I see it as an Anakin and the Jedi Council type dynamic. If Chuck just had more faith in him maybe he wouldn't have become the person we see in Breaking Bad.

The show is great at pointing out that Jimmy was the reason for his shit in a nuanced way, Charles was just too much of a hardass cunt to him. Maybe doing cons was Jimmy's subconscious way of getting back at him, kinda like a rebellion.

Really love what the show did with their characters, massively amazing writing.

He went insane, and refused to get treatment. If he'd gotten treatment early on, most of what transpired would have never happened. But it made a more interesting story that he didn't - and fit the character they wrote.

Both Jimmy and Chuck have their flaws, show does a good job into avoiding a good v bad kind of thing
Jimmy's reckless and puts those close to him into trouble and never learns from his lessons, he has little to no sense of accountability for his actions, but he has heart
Chucks the type of guy who spins his own thoughts in order to feel less guilt over his actions. He deliberately tried to sabotage his little bro over and over despite him taking care of him on a constant basis while under his condition, when everyone else had left him. Still, he seemingly only really breaks down when dealing with Jimmy and is perfectly functional in society otherwise, unlike his brother who seems almost destined to become a crook no matter what

Even when they were working together on the Sandpiper case and outwardly showing faith in him, Jimmy was still cutting corners and doing things the wrong way. That was just his nature, no matter how much kindness or encouragement Chuck or Kim gave him. Or Howard or Cliff for that matter. He always fucks everything up in the end entirely of his own accord anyway. Chuck was right when he said that he's not a real lawyer and is ultimately still just Slippin' Jimmy in a suit.

Imagine having to follow up to a gigachad lawyer who is also your own big brother. Cutting corners in order to compete is the only thing left to do when you lack brains, ambition or their talent.

I'M NOT CRAZY!

Even if you take away Chuck, there's his gutless father. Too softhearted to see a crook lie to his face. Jimmy hates being a sucker, to him its either play or get played

But the entire point was that he didn't lack those things. Every time he actually put his mind to it, he did good work. He just preferred to take the easy option. Even when he got the cushy job at Davis & Main and could have shown Chuck what for, been a respected professional and got to go home and bang Kim every night, he set about fucking everything up immediately.

Name more shows with similar style and pacing
I unironically love the nothing happens Mike scenes

The Mike Tracking scene was very Mann-esque. I unironically bravo'd Vince

Which scene?

When he followed the car after they bugged his gas cap. 2nd episode of S3, I believe

Jimmie was a better lawler

If all lawyers were as delicate with their profession as Chuck were the US would unironically be a much better country.

NOOOO YOU CAN'T DO EVERYTHING CORRECTLY YOUR LAW WORK DOESN'T COUNT BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GRADUATE FROM AN IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL AND AUTISTICALLY DEDICATE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE TO YOUR CAREER LIKE ME YOU'RE JUST SLIPPIN JIMMY

Slip and fall lawyers are right next to the journalists that ruined this country.

he defecated through a sunroof

He literally wasn't a slip and fall lawyer he was doing well enough to the point where even Howard was impressed and Chuck was just being a dumb boomer gatekeeping him.

that's not the pic that I uploaded but whatever.

Chuck wasn't allowed to continue his sucking and fucking.

It's like if Fredo was the boss and they were lawyers instead of criminals.

>I FUCKED AND SUCKED CHUCK.
Really Vince?

Except Chuck and co. were pay-to-win lawyers for the rich, and he resented Jimmy for actually winning with poor, stupid clients.

>Jimmy, your brother, he was... formerly alive
he's not even trying to hide it anymore

He epitomizes all boomers and why no one will mourn their deaths

He connected all supernatural happenings with the Devil, and didn't understand that Aziraphale was an angel. An easy mistake, the Divine is incomprehensible by nature.

I love Kim

's feet

When you have to be the responsible sibling you slowly start looking down at your siblings and aren't even happy for their successes because you assume they'll fuck up and you'll have to clean up after them, hence the reason for Chuck's contempt toward Jimmy for daring to reach his level as a lawyer.

Same. Literally all I want in life is a wife like Kim.

>Jimmy, sneed sneed sneeed, sneed, sneed sneed sneed!

he wasnt very subtle with the writing

>What the fuck was his problem?
He wanted to leave Area 51 because it's really boring in there.

What if Chuck survived and he changed his name like Jimmy?

formerly sneed's

He loved his brother but realized that he was never going to make good, and that any rope he gave Jimmy would eventually be used to hang everyone around him. Jimmy is the typical repeat fuckup sibling, never learning from his mistakes, always knows better until he doesn't.
