Most people only care about their regions, real fans often keep track of more leagues, but it really is impossible to genuinely watch and keep up with all the leagues. In Europe, you support your team in the domestic league, which obviously is the league you're most interested in, and the international competitions. You also watch those if your team isn't in it, simply because it's the elite. Keeping track of the rest of Europe comes on its own then, at least in the case of the elite leagues
