RDJ, Evans and ScarJo were all washed up before the MCU, and Holland was a nobody. The movies are what made them famous. There's nothing to say that won't happen again with the new crop of actors they get for phase 4 and beyond.

Before MCU Iron Man, Thor and Captain America were fairly known superheroes even though they were not as popular as Hulk and Spiderman (counting only Marvel). Literally no one except a few basedboys and cat ladies cared (or care) about Ms. Marvel or Captain Marvel or black girl Iron Man, and to add salt to the wound the most famous superheroes are leaving the MCU.
