how are they getting the CGI and visual effects at high budget hollywood levels on a streamed tv show?

Also some recurring aliens finally like Twi'leks and Tesseks

>in empire strikes back, they put han in carbonite to test the thing and see if it could work as a trap for luke and it's treated as highly risky and not something people ever really do
>"THEREFORE EVERY BOUNTY HUNTER ALWAYS PUTS PEOPLE IN CARBONITE ALL THE TIME"

This.
But otherwise the show looks pretty good to me.

Hope Disney gives us more Twi'Lek strippers.

Look at how barren and basic the sets are. All the costumes and props are mostly recycled from past movies. That shit just sits in a warehouse until they need it. And the CGI is probably all stuff sitting on hard drives as well. They just need one mook to position it. Also imagine all the subscription fee and eventual ad revenue you can get from a 10 episode series compared to one 2 hour movie. Shit pays for itself.

I KNOW THIS

that's pretty cool actually. trailer looks crappy though, i wish they would have gone for a more OT aesthetic. Slave 1 would be awesome

This kind of logic is what ruined the prequels, so at least we can say The Mandalorian is true to Lucas' vision.

Because Disney is Disney, haven't you seen their studios? They unironically have the best 3dcg people in the business with their own cutting edge secret programs and plugins

I'm not memeing, this is true. A lot of industry standard 3d stuff comes from Disney after they have used it in a few movies.

was meh about this until saw Dillon in the trailer

I'm thinking I hate everybody and everything

where should i even go

where's ol freckles?

Doesn't this take place after RotJ? Why wouldn't they start using a proven method to transport prisoners?

Look into the eyes of a Jedi and you will see real stupidity. It is a kind of bottomless stupidity, a fiendish stupidity. They are the most horrifying, cannibalistic and nightmarish creatures in the world.

how many articles are already pre-written scolding the appearance of "88" as a super secret dog whistle?

>voiced by a reddit actor
Fuck off

It's cool that such a wacky design like the IG-88 is back, but it's hard to get excited about a non-character like him if thats supposed to be really him or just another robot of the same time

What kind of dirt do they have on Herzog for him to agree to be on this show

Attached: file.png (960x538, 839K)

Look at GoT. The spectacle episodes trump 95% of Hollywood films.

Whatever Tom cruise had Scientology dig up on him to get him to do Jack Reacher

>What kind of dirt do they have on Herzog for him to agree to be on this show

He probably needs the money. Shit I saw him in a Jack Reacher movie the other day. He was just sitting there in a construction site trailer talking about stealing shit before he got shot in the face.

He's just going to shoot him after that line.

this fucker was my nemesis in shadow of the empire, took 10yo me ages to beat that mission

>All mandalorians are bounty hunters
>all planets have one climate only

I find it funny in sci fi when an entire race gets distilled down to one and only one vocation. It's like saying all mexicans are construction workers and damn them if they want to get into any other line of work. On second thought maybe it's not that far from reality.

Nobody wants to watch a show about a mandalorian seamstress.

Man, at least this show will give us Herzog talking some dumb Star Wars shit with his voice.

>Nobody wants to watch a show about a mandalorian seamstress.

The character could be things other than a bounty hunter. A gun hand for hire, an assassin, he could have a small private military contract crew. It could be like Firefly, doing different jobs.

iirc there were 9 IG-88s. One was scrapped by Rendar, one was in TESB, one was actually hooked up to the second Death Star or something, and the others were unknown. This is one of the unknown ones I guess.

The twist is that he isn't a Mandalorian and just goes by "The Mandalorian" because he wears Mandalore armor.

Basically everyone in this universe is a wannabe.

>>All mandalorians are bounty hunters
Mandalorians are mercenaries by trade and tradition even in TCW; beyond that, splitting hairs over exactly which flavor of "lone wolf gun-for-hire" the protagonist best represents is somewhat silly.

>'member slave 1
>but this is totally not boba fett

beep boop
youtube.com/watch?v=F7d8r7CEIGo

It was already done in TCW though.

I CLAPPED!

DUDE REMEMBER CARBONITE

SO MUCH STAR WARS

*BASEDFACE

>Ohgod ohgod, the fans hate our nu star Wars
>Ohgod ohgod, our numbers are in the tank and we're getting reported to the SEC for bamboozling investors and tax evasion
>Shitshitshitshit! Quick, make some nerd bait for our new streaming channel, I don't know, just fill it with references to the OT, it doesn't have to make sense.

Lots of closeups with blurred backgrounds

Most of Disney's Star Wars content is set on planets resembling Tatooine in every way but name only. Saves a lot of money on sets.

If only this was the worst problem with the current management of Star Wars/Lucasfilm

why do all the blasters in nu wars sound so bad?
the noise lacks a lot of the umph that they had in the ot

It's not IG-88 but a different robot. I don't why they want people to be reminded of him without actually showing him on screen. Do they have some other plans for him? Such a huge character.

Considering it's being voiced by Watiti and will almost certainly just be weak comic relief, I'm glad they're not ruining the actual character

So do you anons who like this trailer genuinely not realize you have dogshit taste and are overgrown manchildren, or are you so defeated that you realize it and don't care?

I'm indifferent about Star Wars. But I will say, you anti-Disneyfags are way more insufferable than the drones. All you do is cry and whine and bitch. Instead of simply hiding a thread you don't care for as any sane person would do, you go into it and just sit in the thread crying all day long, whining "pay attention to me!!!". It's sad cause you can't see why your incessant seething is worse than some idiot enjoying Star Wars.

>mfw a guy reacting to the trailer shout out " is that IG-88 !" next to his gf

It bugged me too, but I can fanwank that Boba Fett doing it to Han and Jabba hanging it up in his palace made it a trendy thing that all the Hutts wanted.

mama's calling

Attached: just_hanging_around_hq.jpg (250x189, 4K)

I haven't given a shit about Star Wars since the prequels made me give up hope, but this is the closest I have seen to something I would have wanted back when I was into Star Wars

You're basing all this based on a single trailer. This is probably going to downhill fast just like all other crappy but popular shows.

>It's cool that such a wacky design like the IG-88 is back, but it's hard to get excited about a non-character like him if thats supposed to be really him or just another robot of the same time
I think this is "IG-11".

>iirc there were 9 IG-88s
Nah, only four

>What kind of dirt do they have on Herzog for him to agree to be on this show
just an easy and maybe fun pay day, he does all kinds of bit roles for a quick buck, especially Voice roles, he had an extended speech about penises on Rick and Morty

>All mandalorians are bounty hunters

Filoni did Mandalorian politicians and civillians and it was boring as fuck until the old school Mandolorian Mercenaries and Bounty Hunters showed up

they need to cast david lunch as a batty former imperial bureau of investigation agent who hasn't yet realized that the empire lost.

That's IG-11 because Disney can't use IG-88 without giving a share to lucas

88 being codeword for hail hitler seems more pertinent to them.

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1075x768, 354K)

Lucasfilm/ILM used to be this. Oh well, they're Disney too now.

And instead of Boba using no name mandalorian because hitler too

Attached: 56r34636363.jpg (3203x4320, 2.31M)

>All those years running away from pixel IG-88 in Shadows of the Empire
>Years later I get to see full CGI IG-88 fucking shit up in a movie

I dont care if it's not the 'real' IG-88, I don't care if it's obvious, I just want to see him fuck shit up

Attached: 1552157148445.gif (600x313, 860K)

It's Disney mate, they are the richest media company in the world. 10 million per episode for this, is pocket change.

Is Bossk going to show up and Job as is tradition?

Four, A-D. And they only came into existence through one story to explain how IG-88 could get shot down in two places in Shadows of the Empire (comic and game) and also lie around as scrap in the smelting ovens of Cloud City. The final IG-88 only existed for the fun of it if he took over the second Death Star to slam a door in Palpatine's face.

Nop but maybe you can expect Tossk a totally new character

Too bad that's IG-11, a precursor model to IG-88.

Carbonite was commonly in use for prisoner transport/punishment long before ESB. ESB's issue wasn't the use of carbonite for Luke, but rather that the carbon-freeze unit for Bespin wasn't rated for safe use on living beings, hence the danger that using it to freeze Luke might kill him, which is what prompted the test on Han to judge the likelihood of that happening. Bespin's was industrial-grade; it's like measuring the difference between electrocuting someone unconscious with a hand taser or using a rapid jolt from your local transformer instead.

Even if you ignore the prequel and EU stuff, this is taking place after the OT. Jabba liked to show off his frozen Han trophy, and the story of Han being rescued and Jabba being killed would have been big news among bounty hunters.
So it's not a huge stretch to think that others would have adopted the technology and maybe even improved upon it's safety.

I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW THE THING I KNOW

you can do that shit in blender for a couple of hundred bucks. check out karmapirates on youtube.

imagine the only think your people are known for is for being strippers.

Herzog has been doing all kinds of fun shit in the past fifteen years. voiceovers for Metalocalypse, for example.

I just watched Aguirre the other day
How the fuck did the timeline bring us here?

Mandalorians are a culture, not a race. Boba Fett was a human who just belonged to the Mandalorian culture, which happens to be a culture of mercenaries and bounty hunters.

>actual aliens that aren't sequel garbage
>black troopers like the ones from rogue one
might be cool, will actually be shit though
