Brie Larson was perfect for the role. The problem is that Brie Larson was the perfect actress to play the arrogant, churlish, completely unlikable bitch that's been in the comics for the past fifteen years.

Captain Marvel is a rotating position, isn't it? I hope Brie quits after CM2. She doesn't like doing a lot of movies so she would just end up doing only capeshit while under contract with Disney. And she's too good for it. Hopefully her replacement would be some black turbodyke that would drive polcels completely mad.

Captain Marvel's comics have been repeatedly cancelled for low sales, sometimes twice in a single year. They keep bringing her back as a literal corporate forced meme, but every time they do it that book is nowhere near the top twenty books Marvel puts out in a given month. Last month that book was Marvel's #35th selling book, under Conan the Barbarian and a literal copy and paste reprinting of a Spider-Man comic from the early 90's.
