Plot armor in these giant cataclysmic movies sucks. Would be cooler if the movie had smaller separate plot lines of disconnected characters gettinf squashed randomly. The monsters being the main focus would be so much better. Instead we get these people dodging skyscrapers and laser beams . They should be crushed and treated like ants

As a longtime Godzilla fan I was mostly satisfied. Human side of the story was boring and I wish they weren't the main focus. I'm looking forward to seeing the King burn that ape to death though.

It was a good monster movie, a good sequel and a good way to further establish the universe it exists in. Can't complain all that much about it, besides the quipping.

No. The humans in this movie were insufferable. The first movie was at least serviceable, but this one just pissed me. Too many cuts from the monster action. The final act was a fucking shitshow. It's not bad when it's a group of characters quipping, but when they created a character for this film who's sole purpose was to just say quip after quip, it becomes infuriating. It had a story? I thought they made some chimps drop acid and gave the chimps a typewriter to masturbate on and took the chimp cum soaked paper and called it the story. Me and my kids are huge Godzilla fans and we thought King of Monsters was disappoint.

I enjoyed it a lot more once I thought of it as a nature disaster film. Instead of a tsunami, volcano eruption or a global hurricane, mixed with unnecessary human drama that is always the most disliked part of the film, it's a group of monsters.

It's pretty good, could definitely be improved, the directing felt sloppy, but its turned into a spectacular pleb filter.

Man, in some scenes the animation was just terrible. This scene isn't great, the awful running with basically no buildup and no scale, but the big standout was the scene in Antarctica when Ghidorah flys away, Godzilla and Ghidorah's animations were just fucking awful, looked like an amateur sfm clip. And all the fake camera movements looked terrible, all the dumb ass virtual snap zooms, and especially that god awful push in in the webm. I miss Gareth, he knew how to film this kind of scene.

In KSI, you had the behind the scenes dealing with scientists and military officials observing monsters away from the public eye, in G14, the public just now learns of monsters, and then in KotM and ancient nightmare horror from space wakes up and wreaks havoc on the planet only to be saved by Godzilla who is now the alpha of the other titans.

Not bad as far as cinematic universes go honestly. Only thing that could fuck it up would be licensing issues with Toho, and they've gone on record sayign they want the Monsterverse to continue after GvK

I don't know if anyone pointed this before but I think one of the best things this movie did, without doubt is the crying and screeching sounds of the monsters. Gidorah and Rodan were brutal and I doubted they could pull intimidating screans that still resembled the original characters.

I loved how varied Mothra and Godzilla's noises were, mixing classic and new. Particularly when Godzilla's classic roar was used whenever he seemed really pissed at Ghidorah
