Literally Gary Stu
You incels are hypocrites
Literally Gary Stu
how so
You complain about Rei, but idolize James Bond
You are just sexists and James Bond is incel wish fullfillment
>Gary Stu
>backhands women repeatedly
Power fantasy, sure. But Bond isn't a Gary Stu. He's a fucking killer.
How is he not a Gary Stu?
Be trained mi6 jabroni not desert junk rat Rey m. Suewalker
Take a close look at the Bond fanbase. Most of it consists of women who want to fuck him and for most of the series it's been written to cater to them. There's a reason why he's often in tight swim trunks.
And yet a Gary Stu.
If Rey ran around and fought in a thong swimsuit, nobody would acusse her of being a Mary Sue.
This is actually true, 2 old women I knew that mentioned liking James Bond movies, one told me the ladies were big fans of James Bond movies when she was younger. Still the type of movie chads and staceys can enjoy.
Of course we wouldn't, since the positive would outweight the negative and it wouldn't be entirely sjw crap and something for us guys to enjoy to if there was some nudity.
Does this mean Daniel Craig is the least popular Bond among women then, at least since he hired a feminist writer to put Bond through feminist filtering and "update" the francheise?
Probably.
MI6 teach you to win every poker game and lay any woman you want?
Being a Chad lets him lay any woman he wants, and he's a very experienced poker player, if his first ever poker game was at casino royale and he won, that would be Gary Stu, but he's been playing all his life. Also he fucks up and gets captured constantly.
He barely avoids dying constantly you retard
AAAUURRRGH GARY STU
Because he's a complete bastard
Doesn't he get jumped on and captured every fucking film? The only one that is really out of whack is You Only Live Twice, as if he'd pass for a nip. But OP is certifiably a faggot.
>poker
Go kill yourself.
because he's a trained spy who spent an entire lifetime mastering his craft? are you aware of what mary sue is?
How is Rei a Mary Sue? Shinji piloted the Evas better than the other two, Rei only became a god when she merged with a god
The thing is James Bond is a Gary Stu, but his movies are good, so it's fine.
In star wars it's a bit different because
1)It's a pre-established universe with other characters that had to develop their power(you can argue Anakin is a Gary, but the prequals are shit too) and out of no where this girl with a huge power level comes and is the strongest
2)it's not a good movie
You can have power fantasies, as long as they're well written and entertaining and don't slap previously loved characters in the face. Another example where this is shit with a gary stu would be in GTA V where Trever kills Johnny and johnny's character was made pathetic and the opposite of his established character for Trevor's power level
How is he? You're asking people to prove a negative, you're the one making the claim
He initially lost at cards in Casino Royale
Did Rei fight in WWII and spend years in intelligence when she force persuaded James Bond that stormtrooper? How did she even know what force persuading was?
Only since the Craig films, and even then it's still mostly male fans. Before then Bond almost always are a shirt and shorts that fit the style of the time period, instead of a teensy speedo
Bond is a flawed character that fucks things up, bearly has his alcoholism under control and hits women.
Sure he always wins and is a staight up male power fantasy, but the fact he needs to actually struggle makes him different from a Gary Stu.
Mary Sue's are only caused by shit writing, they are not a character class in themselves
Oops didn't realize we were talking about Rey from star wars. Have some Rei with toast as an apology
Anakin still trained for years but showed an aptitude. Rei had no training or knowledge of the Force yet still used it immediately. I think it only took her two weeks to lift massive boulders and she never had a moment of failure like Luke with his sunken X-Wing or in the dark side cave
he's literally written to be larger than life, the coolest bastard in the world, you arn't watching him for growth you are watching him for style and action and a very particular story structure where he wins
the difference is starwars has always been about actual character development
Being overpowered is ok so long as you entertain the audience.
Bond holds up his end of the bargain. Rey doesn't.
James Bond has plenty of flaws, he literally admits to most of them in the books and movies.
>drinks too much
>smokes too much
>womanizer because he's afraid of getting too close to anyone (OHMSS being the obvious reason why)
>falls for femme fatales easily and get captured in most of the movies
>a literal killer who uses witticisms to disassociate from the emotional baggage of killing so much
