What are objectively the best seats in a cinema? Are pic related in the so-called sweet spot between perfect audio and perfect visuals?

if you're not /g10/ fucking kill yourself

It depends on the shape and size of the room, the shape of the floor, the size of the screen, the size and type of sound system and other variables like type of seats, wall covering, ceiling, ect.

J16 in case a mass shooter starts killing again

Yes direct center is literally where the audio his calibrated

This is my go to spot at smaller theaters. Its definitely the place to be at an Alamo drafthouse. No faggot waiters behind you shitting things up.

you can see the black sides of the walls, though. the whole point of going to a movie theater is immersion.

i prefer F11/F12

Front-ish / middle-ish is objectively best. I seem to remember some thread from about two years ago in which I was very surprised to find myself on the defensive on this uncontroversial fact: lots of idiots were defending sitting in the back, or on the periphery.

A local theater (which I go to sometimes) shows classics, and their literal front-row center is just fine for me (not always true in other theaters, it has a proscenium and a further void between seating and screen which helps, this space is where the monthly Rocky Horror degenerates act out that movie). The result is that front-row-center in this room both fully immerses you in the Spectacle, and doesn't hurt (my) neck. Not so modern theater rooms.

A very slight off-set from center can be nice, which is good since this is often what you're practically obliged to do. A center-edge seat is good for practical reasons (leg room/side stuff) but this far off from center usually detracts from the actual watching of the film. The worst, the non-starter is being off on either left/right wing. That's where the screen is tilted to a ridiculous degree.

Chad row is for those having sex

>SEX IN THE THEATER

THIS IS FOR ZOOMERS WITH NO PLACE TO TAKE HER BACK TO

Fine but you forgot to evaluate the truth-value of the statement.

we can fuck at my place no problem. cinema is for movies. only teenagers have sex in movie theaters.

>When Quentin Tarantino goes to the movies, he sits in the front. Not in the first row, where he’d have to move his head from side to side to see what’s happening in the corners, but the third or fourth row, where he can take in the whole screen and is aware of nothing but the screen. The trick is to exclude from his range of vision anything that would take him out of the movie, such as exit signs or wall sconces or just distance. He wants to be overwhelmed. Otherwise, what’s the point? He might as well be watching television. Because he sits so far forward, his head is tipped back and his whole face is opened to the screen, as though he were receiving Communion—mouth slightly open, eyes wide, fist-in-a-sock chin pushing forward, large, pale forehead flickering with the film. - The New Yorker, 2003.
This how true kinoisseurs watch movies

HES AUTISTIC AND A FOOTFAG BUT HES NOT WRONG

THE THING WITH IMAX IS THAT YOU GET FULL SCREEN IMMERSION EVEN WHILE STILL SITTING MILES BACK

IT GIVES A SENSE OF SCALE ACHIEVABLE NO OTHER WAY BUT HAVING A RIDICULOUSLY HUGE SCREEN

I13 in that theater

Kek

Depends on the size of the theater and screen. I'll sit anyway from the very front to near the back.

WHEN ITS YOUR TIME ITS YOUR TIME

JUST CONCEAL CARRY AND SHOOT HIM FIRST THE AMERICAN WAY

>FBI has reported than only 3% of all "good guy with a gun" incidents end up in success

A row is better as the glare from the screen will fuck with the shooter's night vision just don't stand in front of the screen

>NOT BEING WELL WITHIN THE 3%
PLEBS LMAO

>thinking someone will just tell you and everyone what the best seats are

I know IMAX Digital is the LITERAL DEVIL and it KILLS movies but honestly is it really the same size as a local theatre?
Real IMAX for movie film simply doesn't exist within 3 hours of me
I have to travel all the way to Chicago to see Real IMAX

it might be like 6 feet bigger length and width-wise. it's not even close to real IMAX.

I aim for that spot. If I have to pee and miss part of the movie it's nice to know I at least ruined a small part of the experience for all the people I have to walk in front of.

I have now realized that there was a real IMAX only 30 minutes longer of a drive near me than the shitMAX I've gone to twice. I really enjoyed the shitMAX, but it has become obsolete.
Problem is that there aren't any real tourist attractions near Waukee, Iowa.

The best way to fan out to other areas: Snag a seat near the center of a row in order to maintain audio and visual symmetry, and then move forward toward the screen rather than back to the nosebleeds. Moving in this direction increases your horizontal viewing angle. It essentially increases your peripheral vision.

Which is probably several times higher than "Good Guy without a gun" incidents

Fuck off faggots I just booked these.

Why is it when people don't have a counter argument they just go straight to shitposting?

G11 is slightly better.

Red: Unwatchable
Yellow: Bad seats, but acceptable fine for schlock you don’t care about
Green: Good seats, the gold standard
Blue: best seat in the house (this mockup is imperfect as there usually is a dead on middle seat with no distortion, but it’ll do)

This is manifestly false in the sense that when there's a shooter, sooner or later the police are obliged to intervene and conclude the incident, regardless of whether some hero or vigilante was on the scene beforehand (and who frankly can cause trouble). Properly understood, the phrase "good guy with a gun" includes the police.

This is not "bootlicking". It is simple truth.

Because this space is a no-consequences forum where everyone can blow off steam, and most importantly, /play with ideas/ with currently-minimal fear of consequences until Google/NSA weaponize our logs against us in the coming years.

The police are just doing their job. "Good guy with a gun" is anyone who isn't the police.

ONLY CAUSES TROUBLE IF HES RETARDED

GOOD GUY WITH A GUN WHO KNOWS WHAT HES DOING WILL PUT THAT FAGGOT DOWN AND CONCLUDE THE SITUATION BEFORE THE COPS EVEN ARRIVE

THEN CALMLY EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY GET ON SCENE
HE WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY BE ARRESTED THEN CLEARED

What I'm curious about is how that statistic was formed. Does it count every situation in which someone has a gun during an incident? In which case it would be heavily skewed towards failure because most people even with a gun won't draw until they are directly threatened.

It is one of those statistics that can be easily fucked with by how the gauge it. Does it count every incident in which a gun is in a house but not used during a home invasion?

>eurotrannies making a theatre seat thread into a rent free second amendment thread

are you a sound check guy or this just your opinion?

Quite strange how people who are dealing with trucks of peace, rape gangs and a literal 1984 style government are all about how burgers are retarded for having free access to guns.

I agree. If the only option was to sit at the very front, I'd probably just not bother.

It’s my opinion but it’s also objective fact unless you are a statistical anomaly in terms of height or a child. My zones take into consideration the optimal horizontal and vertical viewing space for minimal head strain and distortion and this also happens to coincide with the sound engineer’s control seat. It’s the perfect spot.

this was the answer I was looking for but sadly I've already booked my seats. I will consider it for my next visit.

>Not just sitting on top of whoever is sitting in the ideal seat
What are you some sort of Beta male?

If it makes you feel any better you chose the best yellow seats available. If all of the green seats are taken and I had to chose a yellow you picked the two.

Middle seating in a row that puts you ~3/4s of the way to the back is ideal. It keeps your neck at a natural level for watching the movie & the screen is perfectly positioned in the section of your eyesight where you can actually make out detail. "You should see nothing but the screen" is a retarded concept since you end up having to move your focus to different parts of the screen whenever theres a shot that isn't centered dead on. Peripheral vision is generally garbage for anything that isn't sensing movement.

Based

i am paranoid so its gonna be an A7 from me dawg

>"the land of the free"
kek enjoy your guns

The best kino experience is front row in a subtitled movie you don't know the language of.

E13,E12 for peeing and pop corn refill.

Quentin is kind of based for this. I'm the same way, I want to be eating popcorn and drinking soda and completely overwhelmed by the movie - not 10000 miles away.

I usually end up sitting in the pleb "sweet spots" because I'm on a date, but if I had my way I'd be closer to the front, or in those rows with railing in front of you and no seats.

>those rows with railing in front of you and no seats.
The ultimate patrician seating choice. Noone ever sites there, despite it being the best seat in the house.

>tried to get tickets to Good Boys earlier
>the screening nearly sold out
>the front row seats 3 feet away from the screen were the only ones left available
