I really liked Chuck. I can get how other people wouldn't, but I love how completely out of touch he is. Just the intensity of 'I DON'T CARE' is perfect for their conception of God. All of Lucifer's bitching about absenteeism makes perfect sense with Chuck.

The first five seasons are as good as shows like this get. The plotting is tight, the characters are fantastic, and the budget carries the whole thing really well despite being a tv show. The original show runner had it end at the fifth, and had no plan for anything going on after it, there's a very definitive ending too. It takes like...five or six seasons for it to find its footing again, mileage may vary, but the last few have been pretty good again. Series finale is the upcoming season, too.

What said. 1-5 are the greatest hits. 6-10 are hit and miss with the worst being 8-9. 11 is amazing and 12-14 started telling coherent mytharcs that set up the final season rather well. If you like monster hunting, road trips, small town Americana, booze and burgers, classic rock and top tier brotherhood, give it a try

Demon. Can't remember the context. I think the demon was trying to go for Mary Winchester, who he thought was still dead, and so was going after the next best thing...I think. I do know a demon shows up and traps a bunch of hunters during Asa's funeral, but I'm not one hundred percent on his motivation.
