In 2012...

>In 2012, Mel Greig and her 2Day FM cohost Michael Christian called the hospital where Princess Kate Middleton was being treated for morning sickness and impersonated the Queen and Prince Philip.
>The nurse who took the call died by suicide a few days later.
>Greig told a UK morning talk show on Monday that in the months afterward, she "contemplated whether I should still be here."

Who was in the wrong here?

Was it just embarrassment? I still don't get why she killed herself

FUCK jannies

>radio host phones you up
>pretends to be the queen
>you fall for it and transfer the call
>nothing happens
>you kill yourself
I dun geddit

releasing patient info to to non-family/friends is a career death sentence for a nurse. Her not recognizing it was a prank and also releasing the information of someone so important basically meant she could never work in that career again. she probably had other shit going on but this was the tipping point

She was a middle aged Indian woman and was incredibly ashamed of her foolishness and felt guilty for shaming the royal family. Her name was all over the media and the stress and embarrassment became too much for the older lady to handle

>Make a stupid prank call to humiliate a hard working nurse
>She kills herself
>Go all over TV to deflect blame and try to shill anti trolling and anti bullying campaigns
>Make yourself the victim even though you caused the suicide of an innocent woman due to your recklessness and trolling

Fuck roasties

Australians are to blame. They're always ruining everything.

"""Suicide"""
It's obvious the Queen had her killed

I hate Australians so god damn much

Wasn't her name all over the media only after she died though?

Bongs can't handle epic bantz

She couldn’t handle the bants

She was the co-host with a man and also the nurse clearly had other things going on. I'm sure she got absolutely railed by her boss. Her suicide took the heat of the hospital, though and completely on the DJs, which wasn't fair of the media considering they thought it was funny at the time, too.

That's what I'm thinking, that's the only time we saw her face, but I'm sure those in her circle knew. And, that was enough.

Apart of this is how people have an unhealthy obsession with the Royal family. People treat them like Gods, it's really disturbing.

So, you can imagine the backlash she would have gotten from people that knew her, but no one ever seems to mention that in this case.

It came out from family afterwards that the nurse had suffered from depression for years and attempted suicide before. It was just shitty luck that she happened to pick up the call.

We're missing something here lads; who prank calls a fucking hospital?

Barely anyone mentions this, though.

>Should they have done it?
>No
>Did they think it was harmless
Yes
>Should they be burdened and blameed for her death for the rest of their lives
No

Shitty situation all round. I guess Australians don't really understand the media hysteria around the royal family.

DJs that don't think they're actually gonna get through.

She made that woman kill herself, she should take responsibility and try to profit from that event.

No, she didn't. And, if you haven't noticed there were two of them and why would she try to profit from it? She's wants to move on from her life, but obviously something that fatal and public isn't just going to go away.

And, THIS is probably why she didn't question them and took those impersonations at face value. Who questions the Royal family?

This is why I would be very careful with prank calling. You never know who's on the other end of the line or who's time you're wasting.

>multiple news sources later revealed that this was not Saldanha's first attempt at suicide, noting she had attempted suicide on two previous occasions and was taking anti-depressant medication

Rent free.

That's sad. The radio call and subsequent negative publicity just pulled the trigger.

A race of people descended entirely from criminals.

Yeah, looks too white to pass for a bongistanian

shitposting criminals

I can't imagine the amount of pressure and anxiety she would have fell, all eyes and the hospital talking her how stupid and negligent she's been and brought a bad name to the hospital's security. Coupled with her history of depression and suicide attempts it's no wonder she topped herself. The hospital should have been held responsible for their part in her treatment and being unprepared of the protocol to deal with VIPs in the hospital, but after her death people only wanted to point their fingers and ire at the Australian DJs.

i thought radio pranks were all staged now

How is it not a crime to call a hospital to try and get information by impersonating a member of the Royal Family? Am I missing something here?

>Mel Greig
my sides, so she pushes someone to suicide, then makes it all about her and her struggle with suicide before concluding that suicide is for pussies and moving on with her life
she should write a book kek what a fucking cunt
