I didn't have over the top expectations to begin with and I immensely enjoy the 3rd film. It's one great piece of dialogue or action sequence after another. It's one of the few movies where I literally can't find an appropriate time to go to pee if I catch it on TV simply because I don't want to miss any of it.

I thought that one was better than Dead Men Tell No Tales. Not as amazing as the trilogy, just better than the incredibly stupid 5th one. On Stranger Tides was kind of like a buddy cop movie but with pirates, it's hard to fully hate that.
Still Disney's biggest mistake was letting go of Gore Verbinski, the movies fell apart once he stopped directing them.
