Hmmm. I guess if you take it as a literal sequel as possible, and possibly consider 2049 as a part of a longer third act structure with the first... but I don't know. Movies still pretty good regardless, and I think Ager misses the point of 2049. He calls K a "ladies man", but the point is, it's a reflection of current societal moors like how current men have the ability to meet real women, but would rather have a fictionalized version of it.

And the femme fatale with Luv is just classic noir kino
