I think it's good that Sony stood up to Disney. More people need to.

But seriously, this impacts Disney more than it impacts Sony:

If anything, Disney should play ball because Sony can just pump out Spider-Man, Venom and Spiderverse movies and be fine. As far as future Marvel films go, I only really care for GOTG3. I was excited for Thor, but bringing back Portman and doing female Thor completely turned me off of it.

I hate Disney AND Sony. Spiderverse was hot meme trash and I'll never forgive them for Ghostbusters 2016. On top of that, Sony's game division sold its soul to Commiefornia. Despite everything though, Sony is still currently the lesser of two evils.

Sony. Ripping Spider-Man from the MCU could have a domino effect that takes the whole thing down, and I doubt Sony's Spiderverse will be a long term success. The sooner we start to see these cinematic universes collapse, the sooner we get real movies again.

I didn't find Raimi's Spidey or even Webb's versions of Spidey hateable at all. I even prefered Webb's take because he was way more in line with the comics and the web slinging actually looked perfect. Meanwhile, MCU's Spidey is just a goddamn fanboy who might as well be Iron Man 2.0

BTW, Holland has a contract with Sony, not Disney, maybe they will not change it.

I don't really care, I was pretty ambivalent towards them getting Spoder back. Not having all their popular characters forced Marvel to explore other characters that had no baggage and that was ultimately what made it work, they should keep going with that direction.

Spider-man overtook skyfall as sonys most successful financial movie by now. Sony thinks they can just drop marvel now and do it as good themselfs. But lets be honest, sony is not a good movie studio on its own. The spider-Man franchise died a third time because of sony now. They will ressurect him, a fourth time, and it will flop.

Raimi's Spiderman never truly became Spiderman, it was just the Peter Parker show. Amazing Spiderman version was all Spiderman but not Peter. When he's already the talented cool kid becoming a superhero isn't much of a step up. Especially when his villains are aids goblin and blue nigger man.

This. Not only that, Sony was instrumental in fucking up the Raimi films. They meddled so hard in Spider-Man 2 by forcing him to put in Venom that they ruined it, then they rebooted the series with a Peter as a gelled-hair skater. Iron Boy or no Iron Boy, Raimi's Spider-Man isn't coming back, because Sony's executives don't have one brain cell between the lot of them.
