They gave Homelander half truths and got killed because that's still a lie. I don't see where you're getting at here. If everyone who has told a lie, or half truth/lie to Homelander has died, why continue telling him lies?
Homelander doesn't give a shit about stock prices. He had an obsession for Stillwell, but she lied to him and now that she's dead, he has the freedom to support Vought to further his own interests, and to have more freedom to intervene in foreign affairs, or look out for the other super heroes. If you failed to realize, Homelander protects all of the Seven, and was upset when Translucent disappeared, it was Stillwell who didn't care if Translucent lived or died. Homelander has shown that he cares about the others, even if they aren't at his level.
