So the billion dollar deal was a lie

Honestly I hate MCU Spidey more than any other.
TFW I prefer hilariously stupid (last three by Sony) or kino masterpiece (first two) rather than shallow, forgettable and boring (last two)
But still from a business standpoint I get Sony doesn’t wanna share half the profits but they can’t break a billion.

>(last three by Sony) or kino masterpiece (first two) rather than shallow, forgettable and boring (last two)
why'd you say it like that

Because that’s how I feel

Psyop still trying to convince people that Raimi 3 wasn't a masterpiece

3 is true kino

It wasn't a lie, it's just that either side could back out any time they wanted, then Disney started making outrageous demands and Sony told them to fuck off

Well, wanting half of the profits of a movie you made into a success isn’t exactly outrageous, but Disney was stupid, they gave them a billion dollar franchise and now want in, I’d tell them to fuck off as well.

We’ll see

Replying to a fag in the last thread:
Okay, but it made money for them. If it hadn't been completely destroyed by audiences and critics they would have continued with the things they were building to (Sinister Six, ASM3 and the old Venom concept). That it made less than Spidey 3 and was hated more let them know they had to move on and letting Marvel do all the hard parts laying a groundwork and spending money/promo on the new version was as safe as it gets. They just have to more or less stick to the Holland formula that audiences like and it will be fine. Being able to add him to the Venomverse that people responded to is a bonus.

Disney was desperate to get Spider-Man at all and had to agree to whatever Sony wanted since they're the rights-holders.
Disney is being somewhat greedy though because if Spidey is considered a draw in Avenger movies then they were able to use him in there for free and reap all the profit.

Without the MCU Spiderman will go back to shit tier movies like AS2

Did Sony just save hollywood from Disney?

In defense of Sony, Into the Spider-Verse alone was better than nearly the entire MCU combined. Animation will always be better for this material than watching overpaid actors stand in front of a green screen on a soundstage.

Wanting Feige to have greater control was Marvel trying to weasel Spider-Man away from Sony by creating a version that audiences would forever associate with the MCU and be unresponsive to if the deal was broken and the Marvel stuff became unusable in solo films. But FFH proved that Holland's version is popular enough without the heavy ties to Iron Man or the crossover movies and gave Sony the balls to hardball the deal. For them it was either keep playing by the current rules or we're out, and Marvel pushed too hard wanting greater creative control and equal box office.

Fucking pajeet mouseshill can't even post the same thing twice without broken English.
ASM2 made money but got shit on hard enough that Sony gave up on the whole project. They won't make that mistake again.

Disney has all the merchandising rights to Spider-Man, Sony doesn't get a cent of it but they're the ones to take money out of their pockets to actually make the movies.

5% to Disney is fair because that's about the value of their contribution, the script. Sony won't have any issue finding another Feige to run their Venomverse.

Without Spider-Man the MCU will keep making shit tier movies like always

Pajeet DCuck begone

The jew fears the samurai

>actually liked MCU Spidey
Christ.

Sony Pictures is wholly operated in America, Yea Forums. Sony of Japan has literally no involvement in their film and television division.

Its sony. Sony is sony.

No it isn’t. Sony of Japan has zero involvement in Sony Pictures. Similarly Comcast owns NBC/Universal but it’s not like their utilities guys have any say in what goes on over there.

It's too late.. Sony is screwed either way.. Disney always won this scenario.. They rebuilt the Spider-Man brand and then successfully intertwined him into the MCU.. Sony will have to completely reboot..

OR

Make Spider-Man 4.

I just want some Spider-Man hentai

Tobey’s reputation took a big hit when Molly’s Game outed him as a gambling addicted sociopathic weirdo.

I said keep as always

No it won’t, just make it more street level, where Spider-Man should be. If they feel the need just make open-ended references that don’t really say anything. Use the same characters and focus on a threat to his personal life, ignore Iron Man, if they need a father figure just reintroduce uncle Ben through minor flashbacks and finally say “with great power comes great responsibility.”
It can easily work if they try.
