how exactly is it encoded in our genes
what are the mechanisms of action for which these genes express the characteristic behaviors that are associated with whatever natural selection bias?

I never liked the idea of the hero's journey. It always seemed rather contrived. I mean, how many stories actually fit these exact beats? And who is to say this is the most optimal way to tell a hero's journey?

Its the hyper-real IE symbolic. Our consciousness is formed by ideological superstructure from birth gained by literature or just meta-historical narratives and you can play on the juxtaposition and irony of that brought down to a single individual slovo compared to the existence of the whole world, through images. This also has occultist and mystical origins, espically the death and rebirth part (dark-romanticism, the inversion of Faust)

>Heroes journey isn't gendered in any way and there's nothing inherently sexual about it
Kinda wrong, women have their own version of a 'hero's journey'. You can put a woman as the hero but it won't appeal to women as it does to men.
>Feminists decide it's sexist anyway
>Come up with the heroines journey
>It's heavily centred around gender and woman's sexual experiences
It's because they only see the world through that lens, they cannot understand that people, even women, can care more about other things that isn't muh patriarchy.
Nicholas Myers
Because the kitty cat dance dance dance and he dance dance dance
Jaxon Evans
>how many stories actually fit these exact beats?
An absolute fuckton. Not even adventure movies, it's basically just a typical 3-act story structure. It's so standard that you don't even realise when a story uses it.
It's not necessarily THE most optimal way, but it works super fucking well. It's far easier to make a story that follows that structure than to do it another way.
Lucas Davis
>And who is to say this is the most optimal way to tell a hero's journey?
Because it stood the test of time, it speaks to men on a fundemental level from the time humans didn't have a spoken language. If it works why change it?
Caleb Myers
why do modern women have extreme penis envy?
Colton Gutierrez
If you're asking, you're either a woman or a fag. This is the natural way for men, we like challenges and grow through hardship. Women don't understand this because they hate challenges, they want freebies, they want privilege and all the shit men work for without working for it. That's why their female heroes are Mary Sues. They don't earn anything, they just getting because of their vagina.

>Freud also had controversial views on women, believing that their lives were dominated by sexual reproductive functions. He even wrote, in 1925’s ‘The Psychical Consequences of the Anatomic Distinction Between the Sexes’ that ‘women oppose change, receive passively, and add nothing of their own’. To Freud, women were simply men without penises (Cohler & Galatzer-Levy, 2008), so naturally he introduced a stage of ‘penis envy’ – where a woman realises she does not possess a penis, and experiences an envy of the male, which accounted for much of female behaviour. Freud claimed that the only way they could overcome this penis envy was to have a child of their own – even going as far as to suggest they wanted a male child, in their efforts to gain a penis.

Anthony Wood
>When they say have sex, tell them to have children
That's a wrong comparison, user. When a roastie says 'have sex' she implies that you have to do something or be somebody of value to earn the right to sex, its basically "you're worthless so you get no rights to pass on your genes, haha, you'll never have sex". There is no equivalent of that for women, women don't need to earn the right to children, they can decide if they want to pass on their genes. You're better of saying to a roastie 'Don't have sex/babies' because only then do they lose all the value they have.

Lincoln Lee
>believing that their lives were dominated by sexual reproductive functions
Unironically true. Every single time women try to make some statement or create art it always ends up being about their vaginas. Women's stand up is always about their vaginas and sex, feminist art is always some shit like vaginas drawn with their period blood, women's protests have pussy hats etc. It's literally all the same shit every time.

It did. Sarah Connor undergoes the hero’s journey. The call to adventure is presented by Kyle Reese rescuing her and introducing her to the notion that she eventually becomes the badass mother of the badass leader of the badass human resistance to SkyNet, that she’s important to the future of humanity. The temptation is to ignore Kyle and treat everything he’s saying as the babbling of a lunatic. The Terminator is the threshold guardian. Kyle Reese is the supernatural aid/helper/mentor. The threshold into the unknown is her transition from our mundane existence into a world where time travel and death-dealing cyborgs are real. The death is not hers, but Kyle’s. The abyss and transformation comes in the sequel, with the former being her time in the mental facility and her transformation from the doe-eyed damsel she is through much of the first film to the hard-ass prepper we see in the entirety of the sequel. The atonement is her reconciling with the the T-800 she now sees as an ally and relenting on her quest to kill the scientist. Her return is the conclusion where she embraces that whatever the future holds, it’s not written in stone.
Hudson Gray

Supernatural stories speak to a deeper part of our subconscious than realistic ones, hence why they tend to stick in the collective consciousness longer and more powerfully.
And no good story is completely down-to-earth. They all take place in varying levels of unreality. Works of are that seek to produce perfect realism are incredibly dull and only exist to make snobs like yourself feel smart for pretending to like them.
Nathaniel Long
This even makes sense on a genetic level. The male evolved *out* of the female. We get chromosomes so diverse that one of them’s a completely new type. We’re the upgrade. Who wouldn’t envy the new guy with the new toys?

No, because the threshold guardian is something that opposes the quest, inhibits it. You could look at the door into Moria as another Threshold Guardian of sorts. The Guardian is an opposing force to the helpers and mentors.
Adrian James
Memories are not genes, they can't be selected, evolution work with random mutations, the mental world is not part of it.
Cameron Hernandez
So, genes don't effect the brain then? Don't effect hormone balance? Don't effect susceptibility to this or that action? This is what I meant by surface level.
Grayson Harris
Archetypes and concepts are on some level genetic. That’s why imagery can impact people from all cultures in precisely the same way and carry precisely the same meaning.
Leo Lee
Not gonna lie, this is kinda gay.
Jacob Ward
>Memories are not genes, they can't be selected, evolution work with random mutations, the mental world is not part of it.
Wrong. There are many theories that memories can be 'saved' in genes. Take for example how cats get scared if you place a cucumber near them. Their 'genetic memory' tells them that that cucumber, a long object that kinda looks like a snake from a glance, is an actual snake so they have to run even if they have never seen a snake in their life.
Jackson Robinson
seeth hard christcuck

Or maybe it’s a genetic memory of the long-standing animosity between cats and cucumbers. Maybe they remember on a genetic level a time when cucumbers still ruled the planet.

There is evidence to support it. Learned behaviors can be both inherited as well as “ingested” by certain species of flatworm.

If memories are really selected by DNA, then it mean that niggers are really an inferior race with a low QI, knowing their primitive lifestyle and moods will be transmitted.

If the kikes who control society make intense propaganda about making niggers cool and loveable by womens, does this mean the female kids of those womens will like niggers for generations?
Grayson Kelly
it is not the memory that is passed on, it is the behavior, cats that were scared of cucumbers had more babies than the cats who weren't, simply because the scared cat would never take the risk of it not being a snake, while the not scared cat could take the risk and even if only once in 10 times the cucumber was in fact a snake, now we have 9 not scared cats and 10 scared cats, add millions of years and shazam, cats are scared of things that look like snakes

It appeals to everyone. Contrary to popular belief, story structure and character development are only ever satisfying if they follow roughly the same patterns.
It's always more fun to see someone evolve, than not. Same thing for the 3-act structure in Hollywood movies. If you used anything else, it would not be satisfying. There are exceptions, like Pulp Fiction, but you can easily say it respects the same structure, it just plays with it. Any story has a beginning, a middle, and an end, so it's pretty final.

The fact that this is what speaks to humans the most. It's virtually coded into us, because that is how we develop. It's very pragmatic if you think about it.

Because the Hero's journey gives an experience of life, rather than an explanation of life.
This is a perennial issue in trying to establish the idea of a woman's initiation into the world over a man's. Men have the Hero's journey, which has beats of initiation ceremony. Men have this because they need to BECOME Men in an active way, they don't have a physical change as shocking as menstruation to show the difference and mere growth is a gradual thing. Women are more passive actors within the natural world. Men are actors within life and have to define themselves through their action, whereas Women ARE life itself.
