De Niro by far even though he has less range
Pacino, if only because he doesn't act like a moron from having Trump derangement syndrome like Bobby D.
De Niro:
-Taxi Driver
-Goodfellas
-Casino
-Godfather 2
-Once upon a time in America
-CApe Fear
Pacino:
-Godather
That's about it. None of his other roles are memorable.
For me? Joel Pescino
Both are shit
>scarface isnt memorable
you can say its shit if you want but dont say it wasnt memorable
>scarface
>serpico
>dog day afternoon
>donnie brasco
>not memorable
zoom yourself
Raging Bull for De Niro
Scarface for Pacino
Scarface isn't memorable?
Joe Pachinko. De Niro fucks niggers.
De Niro is best because he can even act like negresses are attractive
>70s
de niro
>80s
de niro
>90s
pacino, but its close
>00s
pacino, insomnia was kino
>10s
lol
De Nero's catalog is worlds better. His obsession with Orange Man Bad makes me like him less though. Hes become kind of ridiculous.
Trump supporters film criticism is always great.
Pacino probably had higher highs but I prefer De Niro as an actor. He has a better filmography too. Their range is about equal.
Normally I'd say DeNiro, but after Pacino's stunning performance in Jack and Chill, I must go with him.
"Say hello to my chocolate blend" was pure cinematic genius that still sends a shiver down my spine
I like al Pacinos characters better, he looks a little more like a sinister mobster
pacino just made a lot of bad decisions in his career, he could have been in apocalypse now, star wars, kramer vs kramer, etc.
>DeNiro
he plays the same guy in every movie
>who's the better actor
>culture warriors shit up thread
everythread, everytime
Pacino’s best performances are in the first two Godfather films and Dog Day Afternoon, also his best movies. Weirdly, De Niro’s best performances aren’t really in his best movies. He’s good in Godfather 2 and Goodfellas but not the standout.
Taxi Driver is probably the best performance out of the two of them tho.
Pacino, he has more range and is just a naturally more charismatic and talented actor compared to DeNiro who needs to do a year of autistic research before a role
DeNiro had a better career and was in superior movies though
Robert because Al gave us Jessica Chastain.
Deniro
because
youtube.com
And Pacino doesn’t by that metric? This is such a stupid meme criticism.
> The Deer Hunter
> Brazil
> Bang the Drum Slowly
> The King of Comedy
> True Confessions
> Mean Streets
> Cape Fear
All different people.
Pacino. I really don't think De Niro is a great actor. I always found him to be playing the same character in every movie he does. Whether it eb comedy, drama, action - he does the same character, the same mannerisms, the same way of talking. You look at Pacino in the Godfather and Scarface and you can barely recognize him.
De Niro plays himself in every movie.
What De Niro movies have you seen? That’s a weird take.
The original is a thousand times better
DRUMPFFF OHHHHHHHH DRUMPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK DRUMPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF OHHHHHHHHH
kek
His demeanor, delivery and style are the same. But to be fair most hollywood actors are the same. Only a few rare actors like DDL and Christian Bale play actual different characters.
I watched Heat, Donnie Brasco and Jackie Brown this month. Pacino. De Niro had the luck of starring in a lot of good movies, he was always plays the same role.
This is what makes him look like a total clown. Same with that "YO LIL DONNIE" guy.
>implying you have to be a trump supporter to think people who obsess over him are annoying
De Niro is a fucking looney
lmao
>forgetting heat for both of them
heat is overrated dogshit
>Y-you? You walkan to me?! You WALKAN TO ME?
I've seen almost every popular De Niro movie. Show me one in which he doesn't have the same voice, same eyebrow thingy he does, the weird mouth thing that he does. Quite honestly the only movie I've seen of De Niro that he really portrays some acting chops is his role as Vito Corleone in Godfather 2. He was great in that one. But he based that performance on Brando.
In every other movie he always has that "u talkin'' to me?" expression. And no, I do not give a rats ass about his opinion on Zion Don, he just isn't a good actor.
No, they’re not. He has accents for two of them. The delivery for someone like Rupert Pupkin, who won’t shut up, is very different than someone like Travis who is quiet and nervous or Jimmy Conway, who knows that he owns the room before he steps in them.
He doesn’t have the most range ever but this criticism is more a Yea Forums meme than actual reality.
which one is the wife?
Robert De Sneedo
Why the fuck does Pacino have Kramer hair now?
What the fuck is the “talking to me?” expression?
Godfather Part II isn’t even in his top ten. Have you actually seen Mean Streets, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, The King of Comedy, Bang The Drum Slowly, The Mission, Brazil?
what are you a faggot? who cares what his hair looks like
Al Pacino is way better, he actually has a great stage career which is where all the greats work
Because Trump totally has to do with whether or not he’s a better actor.
It's a legitimate question. Is he going senile?
>no scent of a woman for Pacino
Confirmed for twelve year old
Pacino in Author Author comes across more genuine than Deniro has in any non-serious roles / down to earth characters. Deniro had some solid comedic roles, but he didn't carry the films. Pacino has.
he seems a lot more lucid than DeNiro these days with his Trump and divorce breakdown
He does this shit in every movie or something similar to that effect. His facial expressions, no matter the character, are always the same. Whenever I watch Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas or even Meet the Fuckers, I do not think "wow, that character is unique", I think "Oh, that's Robert De Niro pretending to play something".
why did he marry her?
his children look horrible
she isn't attractive
she spent all of his money apparently (?)
simple question..
why? he looked great and had a very distinguished acting career
They both arent good actors actually, they've just had a couple of good movie roles. I think of the 2, Pacino had more potential and range but De Niro has been in better and more movies.
Pacino's stage background is why he tended to overact in so many roles, especially by the 90's. The Devil's Advocate is downright cartoonish.
He didn’t do that shit in Taxi Driver or Raging Bull. At all.
Lmao, you’ve only seen Goodfellas and Meet The Fockers but ok.
I watched it yesterday. That post-bank-robbery shooting action scene is pure kino. It really felt like TDK.
>He didn’t do that shit in Taxi Driver or Raging Bull. At all.
Hey, Robert, how's it going?
Al Pakino
He was great in that movie and you don't know shit about acting if you think stage experience is a negative, fuck off
lmao if Deniro supported Drumpf you'd be shitting on him just like Drumpf supporters shit on him for hating Drumpf now. You miserable faggots are exactly the same, but Trump supporters are at least transparent in why they hate De Niro
Could be a sign of how stupid and lazy the actor is, therefore how badly of a job they perform
I’m sorry that your criticism was bullshit, Al.
He started the face thing circa 90. Someone actually wrote an article on it.
>He didn’t do that shit in Taxi Driver or Raging Bull. At all.
he does it in Raging Bull when they are cracking jokes at the club
Compare it to De Niro in nuanced performance in Angel Heart. Pacino comes off like a Looney Tunes character.
My nigga, he was too good on that
youtu.be
The face thing/mannerisms? Post a screen shot?
In general, that performance is pretty different from his other gangster roles. Much more viscerally dangerous and angry and scorched earth.
>The Devil's Advocate is downright cartoonish.
Does that make it bad? I really like his performance in that movie.
It's the same face with less wrinkles. He has the same mannerism in every movie he has done except the Godfather. And even there, as well. Right now I can vividly remember that scene where he extorts the landlord in his office. He does the same exact shit.
I mean, obviously LaMotta isn’t a gangster but the way De Niro plays him is different from his other alpha male Italian characters.
>forgetting glengarry glen ross
De Niro, probably.
But appearing in those horrible Stiller flicks really tarnishes him.
>Pacino comes off like a Looney Tunes character.
It was an intentionally hammy performance because the movie was schlock, it was great
Lol. Okay. It’s not the same face at all.
You’ve made it clear you haven’t actually watched any of his movies. This is always what happens with Yea Forums discusses older actors.
De Niro plays the same character in all his movies. From Mean Streets to Meet the Parents, the same fucking arrogant "Ey wise guy?" Character
theyve both been a joke since heat
Pacino is a beast. One in a million.
Carlito's Way is probably my fav post-Godfather performance for Pacino
they've both appeared in good movies since then you're just a pleb who only watches mafia flicks
>star wars
"Say hello to my chocolate blend" is how DeNiro introduces his kids so he comes out ahead here too.
nah it's been pretty much all shit but you keep telling yourself that
If you actually explored their filmography you'd find it isn't true
Not him but he clearly does the same stupid face thing as hes talking to himself in the mirror. Nice redditspace btw
de niro had higher highs but also starred in shittier movies too, Pacino has been consistently mediocre for decades
Sean Penn is so great in that
>Lol. Okay. It’s not the same face at all.
You really should go to a doctor and check your eyes. There might be something wrong with them.
I wish DeNiro had made more movies with Meryl Streep.
Yeah, not seeing it. Apparently if an actor smiles, then it means they do the exact same mannerisms in every movie.
nobody here has even watched any of their movies except the half a dozen highly rated ones ever normie watches
youtube.com
I very much liked Pacino in it. Yeah, he's hamming it up, but in a good way. He plays Satan, ffs, not some deep and morally ambiguous character like Michael Corleone
i fail to see the problem. Not like DeNiro looks like a badass or something
>Devils Advocate
>Heat
>Serpico
>Scent of a woman
>Donnie Branco
>Scarface
>Carlitos Way
I don't, they had no chemistry and DeNiro can't play a romantic lead to save his life
Al Pacino, it's not even up for debate.
also missing Insomnia, Dog Day Afternoon, Revolution and The Merchant of Venice
Midnight Run is kino
Does Pacino have a more rewatchable movie? Exactly
everyone watch this completely underrated Al Pakino
Why isn’t it up for debate?
>not adding Dog Day Afternoon
Umm, that's his daughter, sweaty. Mkay?
Fuck you I love Falling in Love. The script was shit, I could have been way better if not for that.
>that
>a smile
Retard
What is Pacino's version of this?
that kid is a trann now
At what point in time De Niro got the clown's face?
Always had it. It just got more pronounced in his later years.
overrated movie, Cimino was a hack
De Niro in Taxi Driver vs. Pacino in Godfather/Godfather Part II. Which performance was better?
Al Pacino brings more charisma
de niro's best is king of comedy
Pacino because Michael Corleone was a more challenging and big role to play, more of an arc
Pacino.
youtube.com
The way he says the "What do you want from me?" line is pure kino. It's like, I don't know, I can see myself saying it and I can truly believe he is tired beyond belief dealing with her. Not just simply acting it, but feeling it, as well.
based walker
That’s true. I think the scene where De Niro is talking to Wizard about what’s wrong with him is the best piece of acting tho. That’s just my subjective opinion, however.
he's totally not racist
fucking zoomer kys
>De Niro in Taxi Driver

Who has a better chance of being remembered, bros? There was an interesting discussion on here about how modern actors won’t be looked at like Stewart or Bogart. Do you think they’ll be forgotten?
the one that looks like Lawrence Fishburne
Pacino
De Niro did himself no favours doing all those desperate recent movies and going crazy over Blumpfff.
What is this supposed to prove? That the guy in the backseat has more acting chops than De Niro?
No one has even mentioned Pacino in Sea of Love or Cruising. Even if you don't care for the movies he did a great job.
>The future of America, and that's a good thing!
That's easy nigger. Corleone is easily the greatest performance ever
De Niro and Uma
Im not inot gangster films but scarface was great.
Gotta be De Niro. He just has so many more memorable roles.
Did De Niro run over your dog?
Did he really marry a tranny ?
This and Gattaca were the only movies Uma Thurman was hot
No, I just hate the people that overrate him. What am I supposed to be seeing in that clip?
unironically yes
there it fucking is
These hot takes are killing me.
Dangerous Liaisons, Henry & June, Pulp Fiction
His performance on Jack and Jill was memorable
no, no, kill yourself
JUST
Remove the dick from your mouth, fag.
make me
uma was never hot
Judging only their range, Pacino.
I did space DDA but I don’t think I’ve ever seen Insomnia or Merchant of Venice, both worthwhile?
Robert really likes black women
>ywn be thrown onto a bed, stripped, have your dick roughly sucked, sat on and screamed at to fill her up with your hot manchowder
why even live?
I'm gonna have to go with Dunk

Race mixing is anti- diversity.
Eventually everybody looks like a shot stain goblin in a world of race mixing. I'm a racist works we all retain our traits that make us different and diverse.
How can sjws cope?
>i fail to see the problem.
Right, I bet you really fail to see what the problem is. You're not just some contrarian.
Posting someone that is a total stain goblin according to 100k years ago, gg
>Deer Hunter only mentioned twice in the entire thread
The absolute state of millennials and zoomers.
Range is such a Reddit way of evaluating an actor. That bickering about it took up half this thread is kind of pathetic.
De Niro’s greatest strength is his ability to inject characters with nuance. He’s able to suggest complexities and past history for people who may have been grosteque in other actors hands. He buries himself into the characters he’s given and it shows. When handed a good script and direction, his ability to create an interior life is unmatched. His greatest weakness is a relative lack of imagination. He plays what he knows and he doesn’t make unexpected choices with his characters. He can’t elevate a script. He doesn’t have that spark that can make an immediate impression in a short scene or overpower mediocrity.
Pacinos greatest strength is his inherent spark. There’s something enticing and charismatic about this guy. Now that’s a lot of movie stars. What makes Pacino interesting is that he chose to play mainly bad guys and antiheroes his whole career. That creates such a fascinating tension where we’re not presented with a flat good or bad guy. Tony and Sonny and Michael are just as romantic and glamorous as they are complicated and tragic and dark. His greatest weakness is that his personality, if unchecked, will overpower roles. He could never play a loser, like De Niro did. He’s not someone who necessarily burrows into a character the same way.
Both big flaws and strong spots. And really different actors, no matter how much they’re compared.”
>His greatest weakness is that his personality, if unchecked, will overpower roles.
Overall good post, but I think this stands out as the deciding factor in saying "who's better?" DeNiro has a longer list of quality performances and is simply put, much more steady than Pacino. Sure, you can argue that Pacino peaked higher, but I suppose it's up to you all to decide on how much you value peak vs. productivity, or however is best to phrase it.
Seeing them as old men, never taking their roles seriously and essentially existing to be jokes, is a bit sad. I'd have figured that they'd look for good roles and leverage their prestige, but instead, they're just wasting it for cheap laughs.
That movie sucks ass
pacino
Did this nigga lose an iluminati bet?
I’m inclined to agree with your way of thinking. I also tend to be more impressed with character construction than flashy acting scenes, so that colors my view.
However, highs matter. Pacino appears to be winning this thread because of that (also because De Niro’s a liberal, let’s be real). There’s something so immediately captivating and entrancing about him- when he has the right roles, he sticks with you. It’s so easy to be impressed with him. You have to work harder with De Niro.
They’re both legends. They got lucky: they’re part of the last generation of truly iconic movie stars. Both are going to be remembered for a long time.
>Cape Fear
This is one of the few times I’ve seen that movie mentioned when talking about his career but he is goddamn incredible in it.
Pacino is liberal too, we just make fun of DeNiro for being a butthurt sperg
He was getting meme'd for WHOO AH for so long anyway. He went over the top because it doesnt matter. You faggots will talk shit no matter what.
That’s what I meant. Pacinos not very vocal while De Niro is extremely. That colors 4chans view of him.
Insomnia is amazing and Merchant of Venice is great if you want to see a movie version of the play
It is sad how they are both jokes now.
However they both recently put in a good performance on HBO playing scandalized old guys, DeNiro as a goy Madoff (what a surprise that the Jew director downplayed Madoff’s Judaism) and Pacino as Paterno. They still got it, don’t know why they are just looking for paychecks when they’re old as shit. They don’t need it.

okay retard
Lel, i read this in pacino's voice
Joe Pesci is better than both of them
>he hasn't seen "and justice for all"
>He doesn't think Scarface is memorable
This has to be bait it's such a poor post. I bet you don't even like Dunkakino Pacino.
*kicks your shoes out*
Just watched the bagel commercial. This is some Dunkachino shit. Truly horrifying.
All I know is if the Irishman isn't at least as good as Heat I'll be very disappointed.
this is bait
>mixed and autistic
poor kid
brilliant observation user
DeNiro fucked himself good by fathering those eggplant monsters. Legacy right into the trash. Not to mention his big mouth off the movie set, like he's supposed to be some paragon of humility and wisdom. Fuckouttahere. A real disgrace, esp to Italians. Marone!
lesson learned here, never marry your fetish
Hum i think de Niro had the better career until the early 2000's while Pacino was a joke since the 90's,now they are both in a permanent just state
I'm going to say this about my Quadroon kids. Thank you.
This.
Its Madonna you fucking retard
I wish my penis was that cigar
>>Who is the better actor?
Pacino
Not even close
Pacino Triple Crown winner, Oscar, Emmy & Tony
De Niro 2 Oscars, 1 Golden Globe
De Niro has played the same character in every film. Same mannerisms, same everything.
De Niro is also only 1/4 Italian
Pacino is 100% Sicilian, mothers parents immigrated from Corleone, Sicily
Pacino stays away from politics
De Niro shits on himself with his rabid hatred
Pacino 3 white children
De Niro father of mongrels
Better actor Pacino without question
Better human being Pacino
>De Niro is also only 1/4 Italian
Thats a good thing you dumb wop
I always thought this picture was photoshopped to have Lawrence Fishborne's face on de niro's wife
Peak Kino from both.
You’re comparing a full grown man to a teen, racist scum.
pacino, not even a contest
That's obvious. It's Dunkaccino.
many people here dont see the difference between the role and acting.
sure de niro has more memorable roles, but overall he's stiff as fuck, pacino is a real actor, huge range.
my fav de niro flick was actually bronx tale, because that's like the only movie where he isnt a crook
Fucking autist
Not him but you are two retards
Al Pacino is one of the greatest actors of all time. So many great roles & fun to watch. So many kino moments as well. Has a better voice than De Niro imo.
After learning that this exists, its unquestionably De Niro.
>GREAT ASS
>not memorable
Lawrence Fishbourne in the role of a lifetime, starting Robert De Niro
In all honesty Pacino is one of those actors that I always enjoy watching acting, there's something about his face and mannerism that very few people in the industry have
but anyway, I think that in their prime they both have pretty great runs, but in later years de niro really let himself go
HBO needs to make The Dark Tower as a series, and cast Clint's son as Roland.
And what is point of this?
the only problem here isn't race-mixing but how fucking ugly his wife is
Came here for this
They just do this for shoots, right? They don't actually wear those Frankenstein boots out in public, do they?
He is. It gets a little corny at the end on the boat but overall it's an incredible performance.
>His greatest weakness is that his personality, if unchecked, will overpower roles. He could never play a loser, like De Niro did. He’s not someone who necessarily burrows into a character the same way.
What a great take. Good post
I prefer Pacino, but honestly, De Niro's probably the better actor. None of his roles touch Michael Corleone though.
Are you fucking kidding me? The Godfather Part I, II, and III, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, DDA, Serpico etc.
Yeah, what you said about De Niro's talent for adding various subtleties to his characters is something that truly makes him one of the greats and is something I picked on while watching Jackie Brown and The Godfather II, especially the latter, considering he studied the shit out of Brando's performance in Part I and it shows. But he never had a role like Michael Corleone.
