This. Not every Scorsese flick with DiCaprio is bad, but his presence in them does make it worse.
He's great for Hollywood standards, but no one takes him seriously in the auteur world. He's shallow and unoriginal. Taxi Driver is the closest he got to making an honest artistic confession. Everything else is just high quality entertainment for the masses.
