Homelander preventing the plane from crashing

with all survivors

He could have saved all. Definitely. BUT.

He is a social media product more than a hero. He has no law enforcment or specops training. He does not know how planes work. He is too afraid to try and fail, he fears that his consumers will see through the facade. Flying 126 times would have possible too. He was not sure if he could do it. He is like us, in that sense.

Makes him relateable imo

What exactly is he supposed to grab onto? The plane is aluminum so anywhere he leverages it's going to collapse. If he tries the wing it explodes. Fuselage; cabin decompression.

Imagine trying to lift up a baby with the tip of a pin. Planes literally just crumple if you put too much weight on one point. They dent when birds touch them too hard.

Sure, but couldn't he fly from the plane's underbelly to try and slow it down as much as possible and straighten the path?

>Bird "touching" plane
>bullets are so light, how do pussy bitches die?

Do the math. If bird crashes at a high velocity, its mass is multiplied.

He's flying underneath the plane, keeping it level. it's higher surface area than two hands I guess.

Bullets hurt because there's a small point of contact. If they were any bigger they'd be beanbags. Homelander is too small to stop the plane without penetrating it. His super strength would just bend the outside instead of actually slowing it down.

Push against the landing gear. It's literally designed to support the full weight of the plane.

This guy gets it

finally someone rational reposted this from reddit

>expecting things from high school drop outs

cant he get under and fly straight? his back can clearly take the weight. then gradually slowly descent into a plain or some shit

>breaks through the plane
What's the next step of your plan, user?

Or against one of the engines’ anchor points.

>It's literally designed to support the full weight of the plane.
Okay, planes have more than one and it's spread out over a large area. You think one supports the entire weight of the plane? How fucking retarded are you?

>not flying from the nose to the tail so fast your movement causes ground lift effect and gently make it descent using said technique

Can’t hold the plane steady that way though. Center of gravity is at least as far back as the wings

why not fly and carry the plane from the inside?

when your logic comes from a looney toon cartoon

No they hurt because they're dense and travelling fast. Are you fucking implying a cannonball would be like taking a hit from a wet pillow?

i wish i could punch you in the face

>yes, I liked this meme, how did you know?

>If bird crashes at a high velocity, its mass is multiplied.
> its mass
Yes but which bird are we talking about here, because mass is highly different depending on whether it'll be unladen African or unladen European swallows for instance.
Or Ostriches.
Imagine flying your plane chill as fuck and then suddenly you hit a fucking swarm of migrating ostriches. Jesus.

That one is landing, planes don't fly with the landing gear out.

Luckily for everybody on the plane its s fairly high up so the force applied doesn't need to be the same as it would e for landing, it can be significantly less as he eases it to the ground with a gradual descent

all you would need to do is push up from the nose landing gear. He didnt have to support the whole weight of the plane, just enough to aim the nose up and let the wings and engines do the rest.

But that's also why Homelander said he can't do that. He would need something to push off of. He's not Superman

You just have to apply enough force to adjust trajectory to a sea landing you dumb nigger

The fire will not rise brother

this. Homelander is a lazy nigger

With Superman, he uses some kind of mass displacement in his body that does a negative mass. and probably uses the mass he displaces in the form of nutrons or some sub atomic particles from his body to propel himself. His body absorbs energy from the sun and converts that to more mass to fuel his propulsion. Furthermore, Superman can also extend this “negative mass” field to everything he touches... essentially he applies zero G field to the plane and just has to keep it inertially aloft once he touches it.

>mass multiplied
You mean force

He'd just punch the hull trying to hold it.

So why doesn't he kill everyone he ever touches then you fucking nerd?

This probably will not work as the plane will eventually roll and get away from him. But he might be able to bring it in for a water landing or at least miss the city. The point is he didn't even try.

Can the fuselage take the weight of a plane on such a small area?
>Flying 126 times would have possible too
I'm not sure the people would be able to survive the acceleration and deceleration necessary to make all those trips before the plane crashes.

Because to hold the plane simply touching wouldn't be enough, you fucking imbecile. He'd have to hold it, grab it. That requires him to exert massive amounts of strength. A plane weighs around 300 tons. Think for a second what that means, if you're able to.

just wrap a big net around it to distribute idort

Wouldn't he be in danger of flipping the plane if he only pushes against a single landing gear? The center of mass would be way behind him if he's holding it up by the front gear, and in front and off to the side if he's holding one of the back ones..

He should have just flown everyone to the ground little by little but he was too lazy

The net would simply break from the pressure. What's your next stupid idea?

>that wouldn't work because I said so

LOL

Please post a net that would be able to hold a plane. I'm waiting

>explains why this a dumb idea in the show
>anons too retarded to understand physics

Attached: 1445675904103.gif (240x176, 912K)

I'm guessing this retards brain

>he believed the lazy, unimaginative psychopath

lmao

What if
Bear with me
What if he flew at a nearly horizontal line and got under the center of the plane and slightly started going up until the plane was balanced on his back and he took it down from there

such good digits wasted on such a stupid post

Where do you get a giant net in the time it takes a plummeting plane to crash?

He can tear off the landing gear housing and lift from the support frame. It doesn’t matter though because he never would have thought to do this.

The character is all those things but he logically (which pokes fun of comic and superhero movies) notes their situation is fucked. There's nothing he can do.

that's what OP's picture is I think.

Why didn't he just make the plane suck his dick?

Do you understand why it’s aloft in the first place? Because the lift it’s generating is offsetting literally all of its weight. Lift is a product of the air passing around the wings, and the fasternit passes over them, the more lift the plane generates. Homelander could act as an auxiliary engine and keep its speed up from some point near its center of mass, like say in one of plane’s engine housings. He’s not lifting the whole weight of the plane, he’s helping propel it forward and letting lift do the work for him. He can start bringing it low by allowing the plane to decelerate and letting gravity do its thing.

he is clearly wrong though, any idiot can see that

why didnt the passengers just use a parachute?

What could he have done that doesn't flip the plane, put holes into it or safely land it? Not one response in this thread is correct taking physics into account.

t. autistic physicist

The plane is gliding downwards already, 90% of the work is already done for him by the plane itself, he just has to provide a minor amount of upward force to reduce the impact on the water, he can easily do this from the front landing gear as it is designed to take more force than he would need to gently guide it down, it wouldn't be quick and would still be a rough water landing but it's better than pussing out and leaving everybody to die

No. is the physicist in this thread, and not a single defender will touch that post.

technically mass does increase with velocity, just not much on that level.

based meme bob

the plane isnt standing still, homelander would have to accelerate to just keep up with it outside

In the comic Maeve could fly too

Ask A-Train to knit one. It would make sense for Vought to have shit like that prepared in davance for this scenario.

>F=M*A
>A=F/M
>M=F/A
