Why is murder fine on TV but not rape?

Desensitisation mostly. However there's also an element of what can people reasonably do day to day. For example showing drug use and loose sex could well influence someone to do it but murder is so far out of normal activity you might as well be showing dragons.

I still think media should pull back from showing it so non-chalantly though. The House that Jack Built was a great film pointing out how hypocritical our enjoyment of these things is.

Misandry, female pedastal-isation; whatever you want to call it, women are a protected class in the media

Your taste isn't bad with HtJB but how is rape any less unlikely for the average Joe than murder?

film?

Annihilation

Because rape is nowhere near as severe a perpetration as murder, no matter what your soi-infested Californian feminists imply.

The Amazing Spiderman 2

You have a high opinion of people if you think nobody was ever hedonistic before mass media

Feminism. Women that no one wants complained enough so now apparently rape scenes are never done anymore. 13 reasons is one of the last shows to do a rape scene and leftists lost their shit.

There's not nearly enough blood there

Well its a bit tenuous, i think both are out there however all sex involves some transgression of boundaries. At some point as a guy you have to take a risk pushing past platonic norms into a girl's personal space to see if she reciprocates. So it's a common aspect of life. Showing rape in the way murder is handed out in film could potentially see people think that trangression is hotter the bolder it is, that women want it or even don't have an important say.

By the same measure i do think a lot of violence on tv is irresponsible in that it downplays how fragile humans are. If you watch a film you'd think being knocked out is no big deal or that a kick to the head is part of a fight. In reality both will very easily leave someone brain damaged and i bet you people have dealt that damage to people believing their force wasn't too great based on media.

I don't. I think in the distant past we were hedonistic, then increasingly improved throughout history until a modern steep down turn 60s onwards, which i would put down to media.

not for mutts, they have a massshoting every week now

(((They))) want mass shootings not mass rapes.

When i said for people i meant for people. Black societies are of course their own entity.

Deleted ending from Breakfast at Tiffany's. The breakfast was potassium.

where in annihilation was the scene? I don't remember seeing this

its a scene from the expanse, season 2 or 3

its the expanse

As a species, we are subconsciously aware of our impending overpopulation and what that will do to the planet. Being apex predators, the only way to control our population is disease or killing ourselves, and we've gotten very good at mitigating disease. So, we allow the media to desensitize us to all forms of murder (serial killers, war, abortions, etc) ei to the power to end life, while making the power to create life (sex, rape) more taboo.

>your brain on /pol/

Murder is something both sexes can enjoy equally, rape (in public opinion) tends to favor one sex over the other.
