Wheel of Time’s plot is the most generic shit ever. People like the books because of the big cast of characters. Rand is only one of the many main characters instead of having a single or two main character like Witcher or Harry Potter

Don't be silly, they'll be shit for all those reasons and because of the writing, directing, and casting choices. But mostly they'll be shit because of how much they'll deviate from the source material. I wanted my favorite books in a live action format, not their hamfisted social/political bullshit wrapped up in names I'm familiar with.

Fantasy genre is just bad to begin with. Like GOT's source material is like some holy grail it seems like and I had to force myself just to get though one book. Couldn't even finish the second. I liked the LOTR movies though. I like the idea of a group of bros going on this big adventure and seeing cool shit along the way.

That's the only saving grace that the LOTR series has. The fact that they legally can't alter canon and they can't use anything that's been in the films before. So they have to stick to the lore as close as possible. Meaning no race swapping, no random love triangle, no off putting goofiness or dumb humor. Just good ol Tolkien lore the (hopefully) will coincide with the films as much as possible and not try to step on their toes too much
