I fucked up badly. I have a coworker, who's a great ferrari fan, we watch races together etc. This guy also has a dauther with brain tumor, who is being treated in a very expensive hospital and this guy (Patryk) is the only earner in the family.
So my boss gave me a project to do and I told him I am not going to do it for Monday because I have a fucking weekend and I'm gonna do it next week. I am working there for seven years and I know I can get away with that. I told this to Patryk and he offered to do it for me, since he can hardly sleep on weekends with his daughter being sick and whatnot. I said OK and I turned his project in Sunday evening.
The next day boss wants me to come to his office and tells me I'm fired. I ask why and he says >you obviously turned in someone else's work. i know it's not you and you were just scared that i would be pissed off when you told me you weren't going to do it due Monday I got a little pissed off myself and told him it doesn't matter because a) patryk himself offered to do it for free, b) I know patryk is competent, c) I have proofread it
As soon as he heard that Patryk was the one who did it, boss called him to his office and fired him effective immediatly. So now Patryk has no income because of me (I kept my job for some fucking reason) and he has this crazy hospital bill for his daughter that he has no hopes of paying for now. I would be glad to help him, but due to unfortunate happenings and having bought irrefundable tickets for Spa I would have to reach very deep into my strategic reserves to even hope to alleviate his hardships
