Unironically pic related
not even the best performance on his own show
The narrator for IT sounds alot like Daniel Plainsview when he's doing the voice of Pennywise. Pretty awesome.
John Leguizamo in The Pest
Is the whole show on youtube?
It was last time I checked, though the last episode ("Fall Out") strangely enough features The Beatles "All You Need Is Love," which can trip the automatic copyright checker. So you may be better off trying to find it somewhere else.
I think Amazon Prime might have the full series too.
Juliette Binoche in Three Colors: Blue
Most amazing performance I have ever seen
She is in every scene IIRC and often is the only person in the scene
>I think Amazon Prime might have the full series too.
I actually asked this in an amazon thread today and everyone ignored me. Im going to get amazon prime tonight, hopefully it's there.
Jamie Kennedy managed to show an impressive range in his performance as the character "Le Masque", in the obscure arthouse indie masterpiece "Fils du Masque". Kennedy is well known primarily as a comedian, but he showed audiences how one simple man can become a figure of chaos, in a perplexingly nuanced study on the duality of man.
I have to pick both Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman in The Master (2012). I don't even like the movie much, but their performances undeniably elevate it.
Great pics
Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder
He was the dude playing a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude
Best dramatic performance: DDL as Daniel Plainview
Best comedic performance: Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy
Kino
god damn it PSH you fuck
Brando in The Godfather.
The scene from Scent of a Woman where Al Pacino wants to shoot himself and he's getting enraged.
I always liked brando’ performance in last tango in paris and a streetcar named desire
Erwin Leder in Gerald Kargl's Angst
Often people who play tards do damn good jobs of it. Billy Bob Thornton and Leo Di Caprio both good examples.
Based
Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop.
Nothing will ever beat that.
Without a doubt Leo's best performance, especially since he's so fucking young.
Jamie Foxx in Django Unchained .
Was so cool watching him kill so many white bois.
Dr strangelove
> Watch Gilbert Grape at the cinema
> See Di Caprio

rewatched this recently and Keaton's performance is easily in my top 5 of all time
Alec Guiness in Smiley''s People

BOURGER BARN !!!
His best movie is Collateral.
Seconded. I rewatch it at least once a year and continue to find new shit to laugh at when he's on screen

Jacob Tremblay in Good Boys.

Pic related, unironically. He was a magnet that made you pay your full attention to the screen every time he was on.
The character and performance was completely cringy and the film is garbage.
gena rowlands in a woman under the influence
I was going to say Keaton as Ray Kroc in the Founder. The man in an absolutely based actor.
John Cazale as Fredo
Dany DeVito as Penguin

pretty good
Mads Mikkelsen in Jagten/The Hunt is great.
But, how?
I have been looking for a link for ages.
>Best comedic performance: Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy
John Boyega as Finn in TFA. Rian fucked his character up in TLJ but in TFA he was a single interesting think in nu wars. He is an amazing actor, because of it Finn has a heart and depth other characters are lacking
Heat Legend is small-time.
Nolan made practically the entire movie about worshiping his Joker. And he only got "Best Supporting".
Sir Anthony Hopkins is the superior psychopath, he's in the film about 5 fucking minutes, less that two other male actors, and takes home Best Actor.
This has to be a record for the shortest performance ever to win an Oscar, let alone one of the big ones.
his character made no sense at all
Can't seem to find it with subtitles either, unfortunately
It can be hard if you're not in a private tracker
There was an active mega on 8ch but its dead now
Song Kang-ho in Parasite.
Unironically James McAvoy in Split. The movie was nothing special but I think his performance is one of his best if not the best.
some of my favorites
Michael Fassbender in Hunger, shame he seems to be in absolute bomb movies now
Kirk Douglas in Paths of Glory
Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke
Casey Affleck in Manchester by the Sea
Klaus Kinski in Aguirre
Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights
Mads Mikkelsen in Pusher 1 & 2
Not even best Oldman
Push comes to shove you can see it without subs here youtube.com
Just say you are a racist and GTFO
Sir Sean Connery, in almost any role.
He plays Spaniards, Russians, Americans, even Dragons as irascible Scotsmen who give no fucks.
No, none of the characters made any sense, you just specified boyega
>almost sounds like a nigger name
He was the best thing in TFA and gave the best performance. GTFO with your racist ass
What's with PTA and having god-tier actors in his movies ? Only exeption is Boogie Night with Mark "Charisma Pit" Wahlberg.
>racist ass
nigger detected
I'd never pick a single greatest performance, I think it's silly to elevate any one far above all others.
That being said, Kyle MacLachlan is the most underrated Great performance in recent years, and Sheryl Lee's performance in Fire Walk With Me might be the most underrated female performance ever.
And Joaquin Phoenix might be the most consistently great actor working today.
Robert Downey Jr. as Kirk Lazarus as Sgt. Lincoln Osiris.
Still not pretentious enough.
Found the nigger!
His "funny" act didnt work at all for his character. How was he supposed to be an elite trooper and a fucking janitor at the same time? Why if he's been with the first order since he was a toddler dud no one realize his indoctrination didnt take? How is this his first battle if he's a grown man who was raised as a child soldier? Why hadnt he been blooded yet? Finn makes zero sense as a character.
What?
You heard me.
Yeah, but I've no idea what the fuck you mean by it.
It's not his fault, John gave Finn a soul with his acting and charisma. (All your questions are answered on Finn's wiki page, if you are interested check it out.)
agreed
went and saw glass in theaters knowing it would be shit just to see him. Sammy jackson was great to.
>Joaquin Phoenix might be the most consistently great actor working today.
is this a Yea Forums meme? im new here.
Boyega played finn completely wrong and couldn't even get in shape for the part, fuck yourself shill.
>he's in the film about 5 fucking minutes
stop pushin that meme
this count of 15 minutes doesn't include when he's not on the camera yet talking, or when clarice is on the camera and talking to him, which is retarded
No, it's my opinion after watching his movies. I don't think it's an especially rare one, though
Booooooring
Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler.
Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh
giga chad
>Reddit: The Movie
The movie is Oscar bait, over acted trash. "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!!!!"
Fucking CRINGE.
>completely wrong
You know better than actor who portrayed him? He is in shape check his workout vids, you can't see his muscled body in that jacket
Honestly this, so iconic and captivating. Really made me fall in love with Bale's acting in general.
Honestly, Navid Negahban as Amahl Farouk in Legion is a god tier casting.
He's so likable and charming, I could actually see the guy being a loved king for thousands of years
Charls Carrol in The Man Who Would Never Be What They Made Him To Be
Christian Bale in The Fighter.
Joaquin Phoenix in the Gladiator sold the movie for me.
Patrick Stewart in First Contact has a monologue that floors me every time.
I dont even know what constitutes best acting, is it the one that makes you forget the most that its just an actor on a show and not a real person?
There are too many to mention.
Based
Winona Ryder in Heathers.
I LIKE TO....

as soon as the pilot aired i knew i wanted more of this guy. each week i'd hope for some more screentime of his kino acting but the show never delivered
i couldn't bother to watch season 2 desu (but if he's there i might consider it)
there's no such thing as best performance by actors.
it isn't a quantifiable metric
you can quantify threes made etc.
since there is no standard by which quality of acting is judged there can be no "best" performance.
actors are little bitches that play pretend and think they're so cool doing something and that they're doing something meaningful. they get to where they are from social relationships and facial features. fuck actors.
if some stupid fucking actor ever asked me if i wanted their autograph i'd fucking lose it. fucking cunts. go look pretty and play pretend so i can kill some time watching you and your stupid fucking actor friends pretend to do cool and funny stuff,
>actors are little bitches that play pretend and think they're so cool doing something and that they're doing something meaningful. they get to where they are from social relationships and facial features. fuck actors.
you had me until there, lol why are you so butthurt though, did an actor steal your gf
>is this a Yea Forums meme?
It's a common fact, now lurk more, brainlet
Mark wahlberg was ironic casting for boogie nights
It's exactly like how I'd imagine Michael bay got him for pain and gain, or how the starship troopers actors were hired
They're dumb enough to play it straight which makes it even funnier
same goes for joaquin phoenix in inherent vice
Based.
Fantastic choice user, I definitely need to rewatch it soon.
It is there, I just checked my account for you. Happy viewing!
Very true, Cazale wasn't in many movies, but he sure made them count.
I'm just happy Lynch challenged Kyle as much as he did for season 3. I never thought he was a good actor before, I just liked him. Sheryl is super talented and should have been in a lot more challenging roles after FWWM, but you know how the reaction to that film was.
>I never thought he was a good actor before, I just liked him
Same, S3 really brought out his talent. I don't think anyone expected it, but Lynch somehow seemingly knew he had it in him.
>you know how the reaction to that film was
yeah, it's a travesty. She deserved so much more recognition for it than she got, and that should've kickstarted her career.
I'M ACTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING
Fringe was max comfy until the last season.
Eh, Split's ok, pic related is where it's at, performance-wise. I like this poster so much, very raw and visceral
IMAGINE
his performance in whiplash was scarier than any horror movie
runner up would probably be something from Gary Oldman
thank the Lord . Someone actually remembers this movie .Hands down my absolute favorite
based
UNDERRATED
This was such a great movie. (Bronson)
Bale is seriously terrifying in that movie, with his dead eyes and generally inappropriate facial expressions.
hope I'm not too late to the thread.
but Bernard Hill captured the feel of an old king who's missed out on so much including the death of his own son that I can't help but tear up in pic related and during the battle of pelennor fields. The latter because you get the sense that in his mind he's finally redeeming himself since he feels guilty for being tricked by Saruman/Grima
Max Schell in The Man In The Glass Booth
This long-ass thread and no one mentions De Niro in Taxi Driver?
One of the best performances ever.
Bump
THIS. Glad someone else agrees.
>Denzel Washington
He plays the same character in every movie. Just like Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, etc
Sam Jackson too.
just an angry no nonsense black guy
based and goldpilled
Joan Rivers in The Swimmer
Trunchbull.
Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons giving this speech:
>"Why hello, beautiful."
Heath Ledger, Joker
Arnie in True Lies showed great imagination as well.
It starts at 02:35.
>All three of them equally
that's a grammy right fucking there
Phillip Seymour Hoffman playing Tom Cruise playing Ethan Hunt playing Owen Davian in Mission Impossible 3.
for me it's Tom Cruise playing Austin Powers
I can kind of see that
Sellers in Strangelove, three for the price of one.
The quintessential cuntcore movie.
yep
J.K Simmons in Whiplash, fascinating performance.
Something I didn't know I needed to see. Isabelle Adjani in Possession was a performance for the ages. Runners up include Liv Ullmann in...well, anything - though I'd pick Autumn Sonata as her best - and Catherine Deneuve in Repulsion.
Most of my favorites have been posted already. Ian Mckellen's Gandalf is up there for me
both correct
mcavoy is /myboy/ and severely underrated imo
Al Pacino in Godfather 2.
My Left Foot starring the pictured fella
dog day afternoon has superior acting by him
Do not watch season two, the drop in quality is so astronomical that it's become unwatchable trash.
DeNiro in The King of Comedy
Hideko Takamine in Floating Clouds
Marion Cotillard in Rust and Bone
Burt Lancaster in The Leopard
Jack Lemmon in The Apartment
Henry Fonda in Once Upon A Time in The West

Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler

>Jude Law in Young Pope

Both her and Sam fucking nailed it in Possession and made the film.
Clancy Brown plays a great lunatic in Highlander
DDL as Daniel Plainview is way up there. Top five for sure.

Masha in East Russian Mice
He was weak and stupid.
waltz's best performance is carnage, as is kate winslet's
Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge
Have sex
Why did you post the most "LOOK MOMMY IM ACTING" performance then?
absolutely based choices.
Maybe Billy Bob in Sling Blade. Absolutely transformative performance. Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs also comes to mind.
Criminally underrated Scotscore kino, 2nd only to Trainspotting in that department.
Billy bob thornton as Karl Childers.
I might have to check that out.
absolutely wonderful, the way he drops that line
>I'm sorry to differ from you but you are the caretaker
is absolutely bone-chilling
>DeNiro in The King of Comedy
based, I never pitied a character more than I did deniro in that
also contributing with Howard Beale and Arthur Jensen from Network, great performances
Yes.
Top performance by any man is by a black male. Good seeing attractive black men.
It's nice being represented, albeit in a much more attractive manner, in film.
We've suffered enough injustices in our American generations that I think it's okay to have on significant screen roles. Yes I believe characters should be turned black as well.
Realistic potrayels as well.
Not thugs. Not uncle toms. Not big dick mandingo fetishes.
But as normal men. Black men have small penises too.
I am proud. FACT!!!!
Incredibly based pick my friend.
Be seeing you.
>Oh hi Mark
Pic related is my choice
For me? it's shae looking at littlefinger's ship
This was bretty good. I really like that movie.
Pales in comparison to the book, or any of Welsh's books, but I liked it, and McAvoy is great. 8/10 based choice
who else would it be?
Anything by Philip basically.
Andrew Lincoln was fucking amazing and carried this show
b a s e d
Marlon Brando's eyebrows.
I meant to say, Marlon Brando's eyebrows.
basically any character he played after this is a spinoof
undebatable and based
What do you guys think the key of acting is? It's not enough to just act normally, you need to play a character, it's contradictory but you need to exagerate being normal.
brilliant actor
brilliant performance
also great acting
Eli Wallach as Tuco. Perfect mix of slimy, pathetic, funny, and oddly sympathetic on part of being so pathetic. He's not a two dimensional punching bag either, you can always tell he has a certain cunning and survival instincts like a cornered animal.
sean penn in Milk was also great that year, dunno if it was better tho
Came here to post this.
No prisoners!
I want to fuck all three of these actresses in the ass
Nigger what are you talking about
Just talking just shit really, I mean acting always has an obvious fake feeling about it, but I think that's expected, if you go overboard with I'M ACTING though, it's just tiresome. I think the need the expression to sort of give more life than usual to the scenes, but in a normal sort of way.
black iron man blocked me on twatter
Ricardo Montalban as Khan
he is the movie

Edie Falco in Whitecaps

>Boyega played finn completely wrong
But like, it was a new character, there's no benchmark for right/wrong. ?
I was just thinking about this film and how I don't remember a goddamn single scene from it except someone jumping out of a second story window
unironically
anthony hopkins in magic. one of my favourites at least.
even though you’ll get shit for saying that, it’s an amazing performance.. just because it’s from a mainstream movie doesn’t mean it’s any less incredible
yeah, Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke is fucking electric.. this won’t be popular, but for performances by a woman, Sharon Stone in Casino is an amazing performance.. only great actors can make you legitimately hate them in movies
Tom Hardy in The Revenant is down right chilling, he deserved an Oscar from that far more that Leo.
marky mark is unironically great in boogie nights, there was no one better to play a dumb, wooden douche who's only tolerated because he's attractive and known
>proud of yourself, little man?
That's not because of Jamie Foxx tho. There are a million other actors that could have played that role better.
Nah he was smart
Shut the fuck up

>Bruce Banner: Stop!
>Father: Stop what? STOP WHAT! Think about all those men out there, in their uniforms! Barking and swallowing orders! Inflicting their petty rule over the entire globe! Think of all the harm they've done! To you, to me! To humanity! And know this, that we can make them, and their flags and their anthems and their governments disappear! In a flash, you and me!
>Bruce Banner: I'd rather die!
>Father: Oh, that's your answer and indeed you shall die and be reborn a hero! Of the kind that walked the Earth long before the pale religions of civilization infected humanity's soul!
>Bruce Banner: DON'T!
>Father: [David stops and shortly mocks Bruce in a calm manner] Stop your bawling, you weak little speck of human trash.
