the tuunbaaq, being just a big ass bear that randomly attacked them, felt a bit too overt. i loved how ambiguous the supernatural aspects were in the first episode. i wish they had done the rest of the series like that, with the crew's declining mental health being their worst adversary, with the supernatural stuff acting as the unknown variable to make it more creepy. more hallucinations and unseen danger, less big bear attacks

I really liked how in the book it was a much more ambiguous supernatural force that came up out of the ground to swallow Lt. Gore and went ahead of them killing game so they had nothing to eat.

Well, I remember seeing posters advertising the first season on the streets, but the words "From the producer Ridley Scott" made cringe and avoid the show as much as I could. Beside advertising, I never heard of the show outside of it. I knew a girl on Tumblr who was a huge fan of Goodsir and I even thought he was the protagonist of the show.
Honestly there's so many shit being released on cable, on Netflix, on Amazon and on whatnot, that some times the really good stuff just passes through to never be heard.
I remember watching the first season of this show called "Halt and Catch Fire" and it was kino af, but never heard anyone talking about it, not on Yea Forums, not on Tumblr, mentioned a few times on Reddit. Apparently, the show is over with its fourth(?) season and no one made a fuzz about it. No awards. Nada.
