As I was randomly browsing stuff about the show, I came across an article interpreting The Deep as a representation of white male entitlement. And it kind of got me thinking. I just saw him as just another asshole with a big ego, like the rest of them, but I will concur that he's in a special spot in a way. His stories are the most disconnected from the rest of the cast and even as I was watching it for the first time, the cuts to his sad little life in bumfuck nowhere for comedic effect felt a bit out of place. In the comics, they just pump him with much more V than others, realize that they created someone they'll have trouble control if need be so they purposedly reduce the dosage on others, Black Noir and Queen Maeve are less potent because of that and the others, even less so. Besides, the goal was to make money rather than to actually have overpowered people. Less potent supes can still sell and generate money so why bother having some you can't even control or kill if need be?

Also in the comics, there is at least one other supe that is just as strong as homelander.
