There is nothing wrong it with other than maybe how long they spent on it. This season seems like they didn't have as much material to go on so it could have been shorter by an episode or two, resulting in a tighter focus on the Atlanta procedural with the Manson and Berkowitz interviews as impact points. I don't think Douglas interviewed anyone very interesting at that time since he was mostly working on the Atlanta murders like in the show.
